CAF Warbird Tube - Great Plains Wing and the YO-55 Ercoupe

Learn about the Great Plains Wing’s assigned Ercoupe. The Ercoupe restoration project is a big one. One of the first major tasks is restoring the aircraft’s wings from frame to fabric. Once the aircraft is airworthy, the Wing will use the aircraft to explain the history of Jet Assisted Take Off (JATO), which was a way to propel an aircraft into the air by using rockets. This will open a range of possibilities to tell stories about World War II's jet technology development.
