In December 1986 John held a 3 gig Country roads concert at the NEC in Birmingham.
I was part of the equipment riggers for the concert.
On the first day John had 2 concerts, 1 at 8pm and one at midnight,
Around 10 in the evening, a load of the different teams were just sitting around with a couple of beers and chatting with John, his team and band.
He talked about how Aspen was the inspiration for a lot of his music, and how he had to fell a load of trees because of problems with water, sewage and drainage problems.
He employed master craftsmen to use all of the wood in the decor inside his house.
The way he was talking, showed the true love he had for the house and surrounding nature.
I would love to hear his comments about how the estate looks today.

White walls, white walls, white walls replaced wood beams and walls all with unique grains and warm tones. All of that comfort and warm colors replaced with asylum white... Too bad.

John Denver wouldn't hang stuffed taxidermy animals on his walls. He was quite the animal activist.

Industrial, cold, and soulless. I knew JD, and I think he would be shocked at what they have done.

Should have left it as it was, would have had more appeal to me. I’m sure the house was reflected in John’s songs. I would have left it as it was.

Nothing in this house reflects John’s personality except the fireplace and the other couple of things kept unchanged. I see nothing cozy about it. Industrial style with white walls? Why even buy this house owned by John Denver if you are going to ruin it.

John Denver's address, NOT his house.

  • @maguffintop2596

This type of architecture completely reflects the abject vapidness, utter banality of our current era. White, empty spaces, devoid of privacy, intimacy, imagination, devoid of soul, of feeling - cold metallic, anti-human, anti-nature. Certainly fails to 'fill up the senses'. Keep it.

You might not know, this is the replacement house. John's original home was all but torn Down, and replaced with this, hideous thing on the site, with just a few wall studs reused.
I know about this first hand.
A lot of folks don't know this. Sickening. His original home was a masterpiece of art and wood craftsmanship.
It's pathetic the realtors exploited his name to sell this monstrosity.

This is NOT John Denver's house. Stop the lying. John would never hang a deer's head on his wall. He loved all animals and nature.

Ruined a beautiful home . Destroyed John’s architectural beauty that he designed. A few items kept from what was the John Denver home does not make this new sterile rendition anything close to what John created. These people ruined a beautiful home with warm wooden and nature inspired interior and exterior and turned it into a sterile and bland dwelling that has little of what John love and held dear. The home needed no renovation. Somehow these people decided they could do John Denver better and cash in on his name and legacy. Too bad they destroyed the home and its legacy I the process. John definitely would not approve of this renovation nor the vision these people are trying to pawn off. Honestly it’s a travesty and disgusting in my opinion. Just compare how it looked originally with this hollow sterile dwelling. Not even close to being John Denver worthy.

Shame on you, Coldwell Banker !!! Riding on John Denver's fame to sell this metal monstrosity is a disgrace !!! Very, very little, resembles what John called home, and you're using his name with dead, deer head, and steel. Pul- lease!!!! This house is a curse on his beloved hills and landscape !
    SHAME ON YOU !!!

Who needs such a massively huge house?
It all the rich people built homes this big it would use up all the materials and labor so that no one else could afford anything ... oh, that explains a lot.
