I had a Cub that was a Total P.O.S . It broke belts every 2 hours , I got screwed on the warranty, they said belts arent covered . Being a mechanic , I redesigned the cut deck pulley system which was a Defective Design , and then I could get 15 hours till it broke again . I bought a John Deere , so far 100 hours and I only had to replace the blades .

@@charomivida I appreciate your comment. That’s great information for others to hear. Unfortunately, these days it seems no matter what you buy there’s no quality in the products we buy. Thank you God Bless

I bought a Cub Cadet with a 52 inch 3 blade cutting deck and the 750cc twin cylinder Kawasaki motor about 13 years ago, still using it, still works great. I do have to replace the blades every two or three years the sand here in North Florida wears the blades out. I put a 12 volt automotive type fan on the dash up behind the steering wheel to blow air on me while I'm cutting and running it around. I also bought a 4X5 foot pull behind dump cart for hauling wood etc. I change the engine oil every 50 hours, not every 100 like the book says.

I mow about a dozen yards, some are couple of acres and couple a pretty hilly. I had a cub cadet like yours and i found it reliable and a good residential mower, but the deck bounced around quite a bit and the cut wasn't always the best, but some of that is because most of my customers are biweekly. I went and looked at some john Deere's and ended up getting an x350 wity a 42" deck and mulch control. It weighs over 100 lbs more than my cub cadet. The deck is hung better and is thicker metal. It also come with Carlisle multitrac tires which are better on our hills. I like that its got wheel bearing instead of plastic bushings too. Its fuel gauge and rpm gauge are nice too. Its poweted by a 21.5hp Kawasaki and has the slightly heavier duty k46 transmission. Im really happy with it though it is a little more than the cub i had.

Put over 500 hrs on a xt1 46 22hp kohler. 1 starter at 300 hrs a spindle at 350hrs. Great mower cuts excellent. Manual pto less to fail keep the transmission clean wont over heat last long time.
