If you knew _anything_ about goalkeeping you'd know that the ones close to your body are 10x harder to deal with than the ones where you have to stretch. Stretchy ones look shit hot, but that's schoolboy stuff, the real keepers need to learn strong hands (you have no idea just how hard professionals actually kick the ball). Not just to deal with, but to parry into a safe position instead of straight back at the striker while you're sitting on your arse. Note the guys trying to push them behind the post or out wide and not back into play.

Joe hart is deffo the best england keeper
The save at 1:18 from Ruddy (I think it's Ruddy) always make me cringe. I've lost count of the amount of times I've shifted one of my legs to save the ball with my feet and studded my own ankle (I do manage to keep the ball out though). Incredibly painful indeed. But top marks to all three guys - some great reflexes.

Those last two saves from Hart were superb. Forster is a great no.2 for us to have as well. Just a shame neither of them are at Liverpool!

3 Great keepers. As a tic fan I'd like to see bit Fraser get some game time but Joe Hart is current no.1 and a great keeper too....hell they're all great keepers...must be something in scottish water with all those great ex-SPL keepers you got in the EPL too....6 I think.

If this is how good England's keepers are, think of how amazing Germany's training sessions are. After all, they have four world class keepers who can easily compete with the likes of Hart, including the world's best goalkeeper, Neuer.

nick jbg Neuer definitely isn't overrated. He makes fantastic saves on a regular basis that most other keepers could not reach, and on top of that, he plays as a sweeper to help out his defense. He's also relatively fast for a keeper and has better ball control that most outfield players. And he can throw and kick the ball farther than the vast majority of goalkeepers. He is definitely the world's best keeper, and if people were not so biased towards offensive players, he might have even won the Ballon d'Or.
Fraser Forster could be the first choice for England.

Doubtful. England probably won't even make it out of the group stage. Besides, what great talents are you talking about? You have no keeper at the level of Neuer, Casillas, or Buffon. You have no midfielder who can create chances and distribute the ball well, like Xavi or Schweinstieger. You have no world class striker, like Messi, Neymar, or Ibrahimovic. Not even as good Suarez, Balotelli, or Lewandowski. As a matter of fact, England has practically no playmaking stars that can compete with the likes of Ronaldo, Ribéry, or any of the players mentioned above.

Those are all good players, but they are not difference makers. They do not turn a losing situation to a winning one. To be a World Cup winner (or even semifinalist), you need at least some sort of star player. And players like Rooney and Gerrard cannot compete with the best in the world. Rooney is aging, and he wasn't too good to begin with. I think England will have better luck with Welbeck, even though he lacks experience. Gerrard can do the basics, but not much more. Neither can singlehandedly carry their team to victory, and the team as a whole can't compete with the likes of Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Germany, and Italy. Like I said, England's players aren't terrible, they just aren't great, world class, five star talents like Messi, Ronaldo, or Ribéry. So tell me, are any of England's players really as good as the top players in the world? Does the team have exceptional chemistry, like Spain or Germany? No! And I heard that from fans of England. They hope their team will succeed, but they are being realistic. Without some sort of miracle, England will not win this World Cup, nor will they even get close to the title.

Because Germany is a lot better than England. Even their B team has several players who are better. Gomez, Podolski, Schürrle, Khedira, Badstuber, Weidenfeller. All great German players who probably won't start in the World Cup, and all of them are easily as good as the English starters. Remember, Germany is a team where players like Özil, Götze, Kroos, and Müller have a hard time getting a starting spot, while any of them would be stars on England.

How can people blame joes performance vs Germany? He did nothing wrong and made a good saves, the performance vs Germany was just terrible play from the entire team...
Because we love a scapegoat in this country. We love pointing the finger at _one thing_ when all of it is/was shit. We always blame keepers (ever since Seaman vs. Ronaldinho). I personally blame our shitty strikers, because goals win games. It doesn't matter if your keeper lets in 3 goals if you've got a strike force that can bang in 4, y'know what I mean?
