Great result. I could imagine that a variable speed would be even more useful.

Aluminum foil makes a nice replacement cover.
What keyless chuck do you have? The quick change hole saw is slick, never seen that before.

You bet your a$$ iId spend good money on a good stripper...and a tool to remove wire coating, too. 😉 couldn’t resist. Cool project. . I have curb side electrical sand electronics, too. Only I never considered the microwave turntable motor, now it makes sense. Thanks for sharing this video

Great video. Cool idea to reuse a microwave motor. I think I have one these motors in my junk box. Mahalo for sharing. : )

I also like good strippers, though it can be hard sometimes to tell the difference in the dark.

I have an old rotisserie motor lots of torque! that I scavenged Damn if I can't find where I put it, once I find it bam! Turntable time. I like to use the glass plate from microwave as an easy to clean paint surface for my painting turntables.

Would you happen to know the weight capacity of the Microwave turn style motor? Any ideas on something like this but on a weight capacity to hold the weight of huge cakes?

Probably 2lbs, but if you provide some additional support like a microwave has, I would think you could do maybe 6 or so. Just a guess of course

As much as I love this build, it does require hundreds of dollars of tools (sorry)

Exactly my thoughts, Most of the DIY’s in the UK don’t have all the equipment (ie) tools that’s used in the post to make the turntable, they make do with a hacksaw/drill and wood screws etc.and still make good job. This is just my view on DIY
