John Denver is my most favorite artist! His songs all come from a special place or experience and he sings with it too! John Denver did write this for his first wife after they had an argument. He goes out skiing after and on the ski lift, he got inspired by the scene around here and he says he wrote the song in about 10 mins and goes home and performs it for Annie (his first wife). Such a great singer/songwriter!
I saw John sing several times in LA and he gave incredible concerts. he wrote all of his own songs and was the number 1 recording artist in the world for 5 straight years
I remember watching these vids as a child (i just turned 61) i wanted to visit Colorado my whole life but made it only to Kansas so far. My late girlfriend comes from Colorado and through her stories seeing through her beautiful eyes i could feel it. We were to be married in the mountains but 2 months before she passed away next to me as we slept. Part of me wants to still go but i also feel i just want to live it from her sight. I miss you Dannie Jo my Colorado girl. ❤
John Denver was a fantastic singer and song writer. He sounded just as good live as he did on the studio version of his songs. If you like this you will love 'For You' from his Wildlife Concert which I think is better than 'Annie's Song. Annie's Song was written in 10 minutes on a ski lift after he had a row with his wife. He died far too young and the world is a lesser place because of his passing.
