A great tribute to Loughborough’s finest. Even though the Sulzer 12LDA28 had to be de-rated to 2,580 hp, they remained the Big Brushes that Swept Clean, real Maids of All Work which roamed far and wide for several decades. To see and hear one today, especially in the original two-tone green livery, brings back so many great childhood memories. Vulcan, Odin, Thor, Atlas, Colossus…

The Fens are essentially a giant bog so subsidence is a big problem for both the railways and the roads in that area.
