  • This is a reupload from October 5th. I just made some audio corrections that were bothering me, and I decided it was worth it because I worked so darn hard on this video.
For a spoiler free experience, skip to 17:12
This movie terrified me as a wee lad, and I'd like to share the joy. It was basically Daniel Radcliffe's sophomore role directly after Harry Potter, and no one talks about how damn good it is, so in this video I break down the modern day(2012) rendition of the 1989 television film adaptation of the 1983 novel The Woman In Black by Susan Hill. Mouthful, I know. The Woman In Black is genuinely my favorite horror movie of all time, possibly one of my favorite movies period, yet somehow The Conjuring has a higher score on Rotten Tomatoes. I don't care what anyone says or how many sequels they make, The Conjuring series sucks, change my mind.
Thanks so much for watching. I've never put anywhere near as much time and effort into a video as I did this one, so please subscribe, and maybe I'll make more videos like this.
    Okay bye

This film has always stuck with me, me and my buddy saw it alone when we were teens because it had Harry Potter in it. I’ve always said I don’t like horror movies but I did like this one.

I am always pleased to hear I am not the only one who has always thought this movie works) The reason, in my opinion, is the incredibly thick, dreary, depressing atmosphere that seeps under your skin as a viewer and also because the ghost is so purely and openly hateful (so often in horrors ghosts turn out to be either benign or at least dispassionate) and your heart sinks when you realize that absolutely nothing is going to appease her.
I have also seen the original (2 part miniseries, I think, or at least my copy was split in the middle) and, interestingly, it is much brighter - literally, there is a lot more daylingt and the colors are neutral rather then all shades of grim like in the remake, however, it is still unsettling and depressing.
P.S. Good point about the doubts on the sister's part seeming somewhat valid after we get to know the titular character)

Everyone likes what they like. A lot of people like The Conjuring. I do not. Does that make one of us wrong? Possibly lol

i'm gonna be honest, i thought this was a joke video because the only experience i've had with the woman in black was in my english class a few years ago when we were studying gothic literature and media, but now i realise that i was mistaken and i really need to watch it again because you made it sound really good..i think i just didn't like watching films instead of reading books in english. Anyway, really good video, the little puns were hilarious despite the fact i got scared from your summary 😂

Lol it does seem like I’m making fun of it. Also, I don’t blame you. Watching movies in school instantly makes them worse
