But by how much do you recommend. Have a rips srock bottom rb30 with stock rb26 head and efr7064 (yes, i know, turbo by far too small blabla).
    Theoretically ex gas pressure will be greater as boost a little before 5000rpm. In this case, the more overlap of the advance intake will suffer the power?

    Here in my country 10-60 is used for racing (rally racing) and works great because of the beating it takes and withstands, lower grade oils (example 10-40) looses too much viscosity and pressure drops too much when hot damaging friction surfaces.
    10-60 will not have that problem, however... 10-60 for a mostly street driven (mildly driven) car can rob you a small amount of power (fuel efficiency) because you wont be able to heat it up that much and its higher viscosity tends to slow down moving parts inside.
    So application is what really matters.
    A 5-50 or 5-60 would also be very interesting as the "5" would help oil get to all friction surfaces quicker when the engine is cold, preventing wear.

    Wish I could run E85 in my R33. But sadly it's not really available here in the UK. You can order it online but it's expensive af and it's not exactly sustainable if you drive your car a fair bit.

    • @Tryptamine999
      @Tryptamine999 Před 2 lety

      That's why flex fuel can be so convieniant, if you do any racing with your GTR if you can afford a barrel of E85 you fill the tank for the race and any other time you drive it just run pump fuel, I got no idea how expensive E85 is in the UK but I think it's 100% worth it

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR Před 2 lety +2

      @@Tryptamine999 I don't race my GTR personally.
      I'd love to run E85 on a special occasion but yeah, you'd have to be pretty serious about it with a fair whack of cash to fund it over here.
      A quick search for barrels/drums of E85 here in the UK is just short of £1,000 ($1390 USD / $1,885 Aus dollar) for 208 litres. R33 tank is 65 litres. So just over 3 full fill ups. So around £330 ($450 US/ $620 aus) a tank. An average fill up around by me with the 99octane fuel is (at a guess from memory) about £75 ($104 US / $140 Aus). So it's over 4x the price of a normal fill up at the pumps. I ain't got that kinda money to throw about every few months sadly :(

    And whilst i completely understand your point, even on the Castrol, Penrite or Nulon websites, they dont actively recommend 10w60 at all for the RB? Its either 10w40 or 0/5w40 (minus the RB30). The factory spec is 7.5w30, which roughly works out to a 10w30

If your Hicas is in great condition it helps quite a bit, combine that with boost by gear and it is way better than anything else.

    Should be another series or single video for the GTST/GTT guys. I'm sure there's some slight differences for the RWD skylines that many would love to hear about.

    I’d love to go a Getrag 6 speed as my GTR has a GT focus rather than a drag or track build but they are so thin on the ground and prices have skyrocketed. Hard to sink $12k in a used gearbox then find the supporting bits from a 34 when Nissan are churning out née 5 speeds for $3.5k. Hopefully someone a H pattern 6 speed becomes available in the future.

    I don't think the rear camber curve alone will be enough to provide enough negative camber for optimal performance. The curve is actually quite mild compared to some DWB geometries of the era, although it is kind of high for a multilink. Regardless it doesn't have >100% camber recovery.
    If you're aiming for that -3 to -5 negative camber mid-corner that performance tires will want, and you lose two degrees of camber from elastokinematics and one degree from kinematic roll and maybe even some from tire roll, then you're going to end up running a bunch of camber. Just look at the touring car GT-Rs. Not great for going straight though.
