- In this episode, we're back in Washington State to see Ryan and Val over at Little Owl Cabin!
This husband and wife team has a group of rental cabins and just finished building our Modern Alpine Cabin unit. We'll go through a full tour of their DIY tiny home cabin build, their experience in working with DEN, why they chose certain design elements, and more.
This prefab kit tiny home is a little over 400sqft and has a modern feel to it. From its sky-high ceiling, galley kitchen, and deck, this modern tiny cabin allows for a more luxurious and immersive experience in nature.

Elevating the distinctive Den tiny house design with a gabled and sky-high ceiling, we added skylights, a galley kitchen, and walkaround decking for a more luxurious experience in nature. It's cute, but with the exception of the sling chair and bathroom, didn't look like a comfortable place to stay. DEN the company emailed me the link to this video, however, this video would not make me interested in the DEN product. The man kept saying "we couldn't do this or that" due to the size. I kept thinking, "why bother starting from a negative?" I think an extra 100 ft added to the back for a 1st floor bedroom would be nice.
What was cost per square foot?
Very nice. Well done. We hope to start our Den build(s) this fall.

Not sure why they changed the design by adding eaves to the building?
This reduces the interior floor space and it isn't as cool as it would have been visually.
The place looks great but I have to say it looked much slicker in the renderings.
Beautiful location, love to visit some day.
