i cannot get over how sweet bailey is giving this advice on such personal things and going back to read quotes even like that just shows she cares what her fans are going through.

Great advice! I’m only 14 and not in a relationship and I never have been but I agree with most of the stuff you said! It can really apply to friends too- I’ll def use it in the future!!

This is really good advice. I especially agree about "you can never change another person". People do change, occasionally, but only if it's their own decision, and never because somebody else was trying to change them.
About overthinking, what helped me the most was realizing that not everything is about me. :) It sounds silly when you put it that way, but what I mean is that whenever I saw a person frowning, I used to worry what I did to annoy them. Now I realize that there are a million reasons somebody could be frowning, and most of them have nothing to do with me. Similarly, if a person sounds annoyed when they are talking to you, they might be annoyed at the previous person they talked to, or at something they saw on TV, or they might just be having a bad day.
So as an exercise for less overthinking, if you think somebody is mad at you, try to immediately think of three other reasons they might have that facial expression. (Because if you are like me, chances are that 90% of the time you think people are mad at you, they actually aren't, and the remaining 10% of the time, they'll tell you exactly what you did wrong. Or at least something that you did wrong.) So you can try training your brain to think of other reasons, instead of immediately going down the "I am a terrible person" spiral.
EDIT: Finally, there are some people who will find a reason to be angry at you no matter what you do. In that case, just remember that it's the problem with them, not you. If it's a boyfriend, dump that toxic (censored). If it's a parent, or someone else you can't avoid, just remember that they are the ones wrong, and try to ignore it. (See the part about being unable to change another person.)

11:02 i just wanted to leave this here for anyone who need to hear it. basically me and this one guy liked each other but for certain reasons we could not be together. the night everything happened i was sobbing on my bathroom floor texting my bestie. he said to her “i feel like ive always liked her” which hearing that made my heart shatter. i can say that i have NEVER cried over a boy more than this one. EVER. it honestly took me over a freaking year to get over him but i finally did a few months ago. during the whole year of still liking him after everything happened, we were friends. yep. i had to hide everything from him including my feelings. endless nights of crying, telling myself i wasnt good enough ( even though thats not the reason we could not be together ), and even hurting myself. when i finally realized i lost feelings for him, i was so unbelievably proud of myself. myself a year ago would have never thought i would be where i am now. ladies i hope this story of mine helps if youre going through something like this!!!
either way, we are in a good spot now. we are friends and im comfy being friends with him. obviously this isnt the case for everyone, but i just wanted to add this
