    You can always ask your hospital if they have pumps there for you to use. My hospital has the Medela and Spectra pumps available to use while staying, and they let you keep the parts you use of course. Makes it easier so you don’t have to take yours

    They do have pumps at the hospital you can use if it comes to that. But since your planning on breastfeeding they will most likely push for that first. I had a lady help me every time my son needed to feed. But it never hurts to get an expert option and show you how. But the hospital will literally have everything you need. Formula, diapers, wipes etc. I would just pack cute clothes for baby and maybe one outfit for yourself. And maybe 1 for Jarvis.

      Also my hospital had their pump there- they teach you how to use it and it’s all very similar to others so you don’t really need to bring your pump. I brought mine and didn’t use it there.

    I HIGHLY recommend taking your pump.
    1. Good to get used to it from the start.
    2. I asked for a hospital pump when I went in without a pump of my own. It took them FOUR HOURS to bring me one. Milk supply is built by milk removal. I asked for a pump every 30 minutes and was told over and over that the nurse would get it, but none of them ever told my nurse.

    A clear lazy Susan organizer would be good to place on the dresser to organize those things.

    Yes yes yes bring your pump to the hospital. My son couldn’t latch and we never got anything we needed from the nurses. We had to supplement and could barely get formula. I never got a pump, couldn’t get pens to fill out the paperwork, couldn’t get anyone from lactation to come see us until like an hour before we left. My biggest regret is not bringing my pump!

      I second this. Bring the pump. They were all in use the ones my hospital had. My husband went and got ours on the second day and lactation consultant came right in after he got it. It was a big help. She showed us what setting it should be on since it was a new pump for me.

    You really don’t need to bring your pump. You can if you want but it’s not necessary. The hospital has a pump for you to use. My baby was in the NICU for a week so even after I was discharged and we were going back to the hospital to visit him, I still used the pump that the hospital had there. I just brought the collection cups and tubing with me that I kept. That way I could still pump while we were visiting but didn’t have to lug the pump with me every time. The hospital used Medela and I had the spectra and I didn’t care that they were different. They operate the same way.

    Also I am bringing both my pumps to the hospital so the lactation consultant can show me how to properly use! I have the Elvie wearable and Madela

    I had my baby September 18 and packed my hospital bag thinking I needed everything. I'm telling you, the only thing I used for myself was the shampoo and conditioner and body wash, and my going home outfit. The only thing I used was the hospital gown and my own slippers. For my baby, I only used her going home outfit and announcement outfit to take photos. Your baby will be naked due to much needed skin to skin. It might be different for you depending on how your giving birth. I had a c section so I couldn't move around to even think about changing into Pajamas. When I showered the second day, I put on a clean hospital gown. The nurses will be in and out your room checking your body and taking blood. So wear loose comfortable gowns if you don't want to wear the hospital gown. My hospital provided everything. The postpartum and baby essentials I packed, I didn't use. Just a recommendation from a first time mom.

    Definitely keep your tucks, your pp underwear, creams, etc. for at home! They will provide enough for you at the hospital and even give you some to take home!

    • @s.murray7797
      @s.murray7797 Před 8 měsíci

      Yes don’t bring anything post partum with you. Just use what the hospital has. Btw if you have sensitive skin you won’t like the pp underwear. They are scented also. I couldn’t use them and returned them a week before I had my baby. I had gotten a size large also and they were uncomfortable

    No don't bring you breast pump to the hospital the hospital has their own breast pump that you can use during your stay there. I've been through three different and I have always asked for breast pump, formula, diapers, wipes, cream and they have always had given it to another thing to note that your milk supply will not be coming in right after you have a baby it takes at least a day before your milk supply come through where you be able to breastfeed but after you had the baby and you start pumping at the hospital it was start getting the flow going in your ducts in your breast and it will start initiating the milk supply.
