I agree with Charlemagne and I think he speaks the truth about how a lot of us feel about our government right now. It wasn't enough to just get T**** out of the WH. We need the courage of real leadership to dig us out of this mess.

Charlamagne seems to understand exactly where it's at with American politics. The kind of things he says in this clip should be discussion points for everyone who wants things to change for the better.
Absolutely.
We as citizens of this country need to take a more active part in running it.
It starts with finding people who are willing & able to look at our country, as a whole, & make decisions that will benefit the majority of people.
Then, we have to get them elected, & monitor what they do while in office. How many politicians actually complete the promises they make in their campaigns? That's the reason we elected them in the first place, their campaign promises. And if they or anyone else in our government are causing roadblocks to making those promises a reality, we have to play hardball. Mitch McConnell has the right idea. I can only imagine what 'he has' on his colleagues to get them to fall into step so easily. The DEMs need to stop going by the rules of etiquette & press as far, to the line of the law, as possible & without going over it. That's what McConnell has done. He's really brilliant if you think about it.
He definitely seems to understand, in the fact that our Constitution is Living as long as we give it life. It is ok to add things to The Constitution that support and defend our Democracy. It is ok to know the truth about your country and still love it. It is like a child. We are the new parents of This Democracy and we will either feed Democracy or we will feed alternatives which are not american. Just because its how it was in the past doesn't mean in the past they were doing what is legal, moral, godly, wtfetm. Not Everything Great Grand Pappy said was Morally Right and Constitutional. You have to find and learn for yourself and crack pots talking about bisexual frogs and putting on a frog hat and painting his face green is not a reliable source, Fox News admits they dont tell the truth all the time. Fox tells the truth only if they are forced too through litigation or shamed into it. Your other Mainstream News, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, are all owned by giant corporations so you will never hear the whole truth from them. Yes Trump did awful things but the Wealthy corporations were in on some of it with him. Now we give 150 billion to tech companies nomstrings attached when they are the very ones who put sent our tech companies overseas to begin with. Also Nancy Pelosi's husband puts 5 million into tech company 😉that will get a portion of the 150 billion dollar welfare check to the rich. I started to get mad at that Bishop in Brooklyn who is obviously not a real believer in Jesus because no humble man of God would own 1 million in jewels to adorn themselves. Anyone who does is a Charlatan, Hypocrite, Con-Artist. Personally I was like well if some hungry dude in the streets robbed him of nis 1 million in jewels then he deserved it, and Imstand by that. If I was a young man and had hungry mouths to feed. Id robb a preacher wearing 1 million.
Then there was the possibility of it being staged. He has been convicted of fraud in the past. Well, I don't know but maybe he did fake it and is going to get back some of that 2008 insurance company bailout that none of us got a benefit from. If he's grifting the system, I don't care, Hope he finds success in it. Its not like he isnt owed restitution. America owes Restitution for things they've done. Every poor man that makes a mistake has to pay it or serve out their entire sentence in prison or jail depending on where you want to do your time. If you can become someone they trust to work the floors and do shit, or cook in the kitchen, or do laundry, you can decide. The court will often work with deputies recommendations. I learned to Hustle growing up. I was poor. I had to learn how to let my tongue help me get things my poor ass couldn't afford. I watched and observed, and then came field work. Bishops hustle may work out to make him 1 million richer which aint shit in New York.
Ending the filibuster is only good for democrats in this moment. In a republican led government every democrat would be demanding to reinstate the filibuster… and expanding the court would only be impactful if specifically-minded justices were to be placed in office… expanding the court does nothing on its own and doesn’t guarantee any trajectory, neither does ending the filibuster.
Discussion? It's all Dem constituents DO!!

Everyone in the political sector has a hand in how shoddy our government is being run. Just look at how many of our federally elected officials show up for every vote that comes to the floor in their respective chambers. They only show up to 'put on a show', otherwise, you can't even find them. Yet, they vote themselves raises & threaten to shut down the government because they have no money to continue running the said government. What the heck are they doing in the meantime, sitting on their thumbs & rotating? We pay them minimally $175,000/yr + full benefits, including half their salaries as a pension. This 'he said, she said' BS is just that. Stop bickering & deflecting, & DO YOUR DAMN JOB!

Personally, I think that We, The People, should vote on a specified amount of money, to be given to any qualified candidate, to use for campaigning, & by law, they can't amass any more than that amount. That money would become part of our annual governmental budget (state & federal).

End the Electoral College. We can all be vetted by technology to vote electronically. If we can file our taxes electronically, we should be able to vote that way... Real representative democracy for the first time ever.
The electoral college gives smaller populations a voice.
The electoral college is the reason many people don't vote. Why bother voting when you live in a state that always goes contrary to your party affiliation? Essentially your vote doesn't count, so why waste the time?
And the votes of people in Wyoming are worth three times as much as Kansas votes?
💯 percent get rid of it. One person, one vote. Electoral college is no longer representative. AND look how Trump and criminal associates tried to put forth “fake” electors. Say what you want about him, he's a blackhearted old blobfish turtle man and all that, but his political strategy is second to none and Dems have to start emulating him. His party had goals, he ruthlessly kept his eyes on the prize (conservative activist judges on scotus), and he skillfully swatted Democrats out of his way at every turn. We need a Dem version of Mitch.

The only way to keep power from being sought after is to remove every factor that makes it desirable to bad actors.
We need anti-corruption policy and we need to invade the privacy of our "public servants" to the point that they do not when we are watching and when we are not.
There are too many people at the bottom, the people doing the actual work so our "leaders" can do their work.
We have seen from these recent hearings just how much the worker bees know about their "bosses".
Change the definition of "life time" for such roles, we do not need to be asking people to work until they die or break . . . period.
Reward them well and push them out at an age that gives them time to rest and/or recover. These people sacrifice too much of their life not to end up bitter.
Glad to hear Charlamagnes comments on network TV because they don’t get stated there. Also, why are those the Democrats we can vote for? How did they get to the position of being ‘the’ candidate of choice? Who financially supported them so they could run? We need Progressives who are running to represent the people.
