    I took both CCD and BTL1 and here is my experience :
    BTL1 is very good for beginners and anyone who is looking for SOC L1 role, it covers all the basics needed and prepares you for more in depth advanced certs
    CCD is more advanced and goes in depth into forensics and email analysis than BTL1, its very good if you have 1-2 years experiences as SOC L1 and want to advance to SOC L2/L3
    CCD exam is much harder than BTL1 and the questions are not easy and require you to have very good understanding of the topics , simply knowing how to use the tools is not enough to pass the exam , you need to think like a defender and attacker and know what to look for and where to look for it, BTL1 on the other hand is simple , it validates you have the basic understanding of SOC tools and how SOC teams operate

      @@johnvardy9559if you are a beginner then yes BTL1 then CCD or you can try CCD strught a way but it will be diffcult and will require a lot of prepration

      @@sscoconut1265 I cannot disclose that due to NDA but CCD is much longer than BTL1 almost twice as long

      Do you think BTL2 is on par with the CCD or the same for much, much more?

    The G.O.A.T never ceases to amaze!🔥🔥. Really like the segments for each topic discussed about the certification making the video easy to find which section you want to view and really clear and concise explanation. Crisp details about your experience and the visual elements were very high quality and easy to follow. Also, really like how you talked about the feedback part because it is very advantageous for a company to make sure that their certification is not only updated and maintained, but making sure to listen and care about their students when it comes to what can I do to make this certification better and then implement is truly amazing. Definitely a certification on my list and really great overall video and saving this one for sure! Amazing video and great work as always! Keep it up!

    Great video as always, Day. I am glad to see CyberDefenders getting increased visibility. Their training labs really helped me get up to speed as an analyst. I am considering this one or BTL2 for my next cert.

    Hey, I recently passed BTL1 cert. Do you think this cert is an upgrade from BTL1. Also, I want to do 1 red team cert, Which one do you propose. EJPT or PJPT or PNPT?.

    • @faanross
      @faanross Před rokem +7

      it depends on your motivation for doing. BTL1 and this course has similar curricula, equally practical, thus i would say from a learning pov they are equivalent. however BTL1, though also relatively new, has gained some good industry recognition and thus if your goal with certs are to help you land jobs/opportunities it is far superior than CCD, which is essentially brand new and thus almost no recruiters/employees have heard of it.
      if your goal is to get a better ("more advanced") cert in the blue team path for the purpose of getting a job/better job focus on CySA+ and then CASP+. yes comptia certs are not known for their practical nature, but you will learn a lot, and they are, as far as blue team certs go, among the most universally recognized.
      i don't know you or your specific situation so unsure why you think it's needed to do "1 red team cert". if your thinking is to break into purple team, i would caution against that as a beginner - purple teaming is really something you evolve into later when you have a deep foundational understanding of both fields, it's not something you'll enter into because you have both 1 blue and 1 red team cert.
      so, assuming you are a beginner i suggest deciding whether you really want to to work in defense or offense, and then fully committing to that. don't spread yourself thin, for entry-level jobs employers like seeing focus and depth - meaning you can do the few things the job requires well - rather than having a "tried everything" approach. this field is so broad is easy to lose focus and spread yourself thin, employers are leery of people who do this, you can always branch out and evolve your scope as you progress but to start off commit to one path and get a solid foundation there. A LOT of pentesters started in defense, which makes sense - there's no better way to know how to evade defense if you understand exactly how they work.

      I took both and can confidently see CCD as an upgrade for BTL1 and 2. The depth of the content and the “real-world- experience you get from CCD is outstanding!
      Yes, it’s relatively new but I think it’s just a matter of time before becoming the go to choice for Blue teams.
