When he put that on his lap reminded me of watching Jeff Healy playing at the 5 Fisherman back in Halifax many moons ago , well done Sir .
i saw Jeff Healy play here in Nanaimo when I was a kid
Over 100 years old. Oh the stories that guitar could tell. Thanks for the great playing Jack
Jeeze, the playing is so beautiful I’m actually moved to tears. That has to be JRS’s best performance among many. Loved it dude! Merry Christmas Hanukkah Kwanza Festivus Holidaitus!
Smokin ! Who else can play an L- 1 like that !! Thanks Jack. And thanks to Norm's luthiers who probably set up this 1920 guitar and many, many more.
FANTASTIC guitar and Jack’s playing is AWESOME!
Thanks Jack & Jen ! I love Norm's guitars, but Jack's playing and singing, sure brings them to life.
Jack Ryan your song did move me to tears. You got soul dude. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and whatever you celebrate! Light is coming back into the world.
Wow! That thing sounds amazing!!!
Love those early Gibsons!! Go, Jack, go!
The big guitar wizard strikes again ! Nice guitar Jack ! You nailed the Robert Johnson style blues! This guy can play anything you can imagine. 🤘👌🤟
I love it when Jack hosts GOD, he plays so many different styles. George in Montana

Great playing...Lemmo or whoever is player always puts on a great FREE performance....but always love Jen's enthusiasm and input!!!!
Great demo
check your date, L-1's were arch-tops in 1920. your guitar was made at least 6 years after that. Loar originally designed the L series w/violins in mind. cheers
Beautiful guitar!
Nice demo, Mr. Sullivan 👏👏👏
That was some very intricate playing, dude. Kudos.
And that boys and girls, is what we used to call Talent. Awesome 😀
My god! what a beauty.🎶🎶🎶
My family recently found one of these "The Gibson" L1's in the grandparents attic, unfortunately it's very beat up and not currently playable. It's nice to see one in its full glory, it sounds fantastic
Killer tone, great playing man!
Please play more rag time that had such good feeling when jack played, peaceful vibes to the norm crew!

Great playing JRS . Very cool GOTD! You ok Jen?
Nice rundown, good choice of material, great playing, warm and relaxed manner with a bit of humour. Very enjoyable presentation of this guitar. Thx.
Jack makes it look so easy.
Perfect in every way. I'd be honored to own that little flat top box. She's a player hope she gets a good home.
Your playing's great, Jack. And the guitar sounds good too. Love 'em
That was great!!!
beautiful job Jack!
I want to keep it simple. Great sounding guitar and great playing, Jack!
Well played!
Wow, just WOW!!!
You never cease to amaze me Jack! You are overflowing with talent and it just spills out of you! (Not to mention you’re funny as Hell!) I loved your original and when you started playing some Ragtime, the guitar seemed to smile (then you got a smile out of me when you went into the Christmas tune)
Merry Christmas from WV Brother!
~Eric
Happy Holidays to Norms Guitar..!!!
That guitar sounds amazing! I am scared to ask the price.
Jack,
Glad you played that slow fingerpicking blues. I could tell you play well when you play fast stuff. Now I also appreciate your slow stuff, and country singing.
You and Lemmo and Coby and a drummer , at your level, would make a great band. Of course Norm would be your agent/manager and Jen the Byeee Girl as computer and camera wiz,
Brandon, our relaxed historian guitarist and a host of music lovers, famous and soon-to-be famous Rare Guitar Geekers, rejoice and lift a cup , without picks, to "Long live Guitarists at this time of light."
That is one of the greatest sources 😎
God bless everyone. Thank you.

Sounds great.....👍
Jack, really enjoyed your video. Your song you wrote is nice as well. I like all the guys there but you might be my favorite LOL. Thanks
Happy Holidays to you and your family and best wishes for this coming year 🎄🎅⛄💊🍄🌿
That Guy can play!!!👍🎸🎄
Awesome blues guitar and cool top colour ageing spruce sir
Great job JRS great job Jen. Norms is a Special place Fo Sho
Wow u r the real deal😊
Great playin! I just found one of those L-1s in an old country antique shop in Louisiana, terrible condition, but can’t wait to get started on it. I think it’s a 1928?
The Llewyn Davis guitar! I don't think they've done this one yet
Wow
Santa In his summer outfit playing a 20's Gibby flattop sounds fantastic, where did he park the sleigh though?
jack love your song and playing....oh and my shirt size is large
How do you guys keep from banging the guitars in to those shelves? It scares the crap outta me!
Sometimes we play with them like they’re bowling pins. Ever seen a prewar L-5 crack after between thrown into a few pinstripe tweed cases?
Think Jack came out of the womb with a guitar in his hands
I noticed that although the makers went to the trouble of making an arched back, they did not make it bookmatched. Does anyone know why they would make it that way?
The day I can afford one will be the day I become a pro quidditch player in space.
I almost thought he was going to drop the guitar 😅
Wizard
Beautiful guitar. Can't be 1920 tho. Perhaps you meant 1930?
I was gone for fourteen days
I could've been gone for more
Held up in the intensive care ward
Lyin' on the floor
I was gone for all those days
But I was not all alone
I made friends with a lot of people
In the danger zone
See my lonely life unfold
I see it every day
See my only mind explode
Since I've gone away
I think I lost some weight there
And I, I'm sure I need some rest
Sleeping don't come very easy
In a straight white vest
Sure like to see that little children
She's only four years old, old
I'd give her back all of her play things
Even, even the ones I stole
See my lonely life unfold
I see it everyday
See my lonely mind explode
When I've gone insane
I wanna get outta here
I…
Did you go to the crossroad to cause you can sure play
good question
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🍪👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
1920 they still were making archtops. Not flattops. This guitar must be a little later. Actually more desirable with the flat top
Hey, I didn't know Chumlee was working at Norm's Guitars now. LMFAO
Having fun?
