Sony A100 - My Thoughts | Refreshing old DSLR to Experiment

- The Sony A100 brought over some design language from the older Minolta cameras and helped shape "modern" Sony DSLRs and translucent cameras. However, many years later, this camera can be found for very low price tags often with lenses included. Yet, they still deliver great results and also very fun to use! :-) In this video, I will share with you my thoughts on this camera. I hope you can gain something from this video as well as enjoy it! :-)

Nice post. I bought mine in 2007 as an upgrade from my Konica Minolta Dimage Z2. I just "rediscovered" it a week or so ago, and I intend to take it on vacation (instead of my A6500) this summer. :) Thanks for sharing.
This was my first DSLR and still have it somewhere. I got some great photos from it through the years.
I have this old camera amongst others and find your thoughts valid and interesting.

Cuando estaba en la universidad heredé una pequeña cantidad de dinero de mi madre, con ese dinero compre esta cámara, fue mi primera cámara digital con opciones manuales. Con ella aprendí todo lo que necesitaba saber; tiempo despues tuve un alumno con mucho talento y se la dí como un regalo. El era muy descuidado y la dejó OLVIDADA en un parque. Tengo muy buenos recuerdos de esta cámara y de como todos despresiaban los primeros intentos de Sony.
Had this since new. Has it's limitations for sure. I keep it to shoot manual lenses with adapters on. The noise from the sensor is somewhat film-like which I like.
Hello there, thanks for the very insightful video. Perhaps you could give me some advice: I bought one of these back in the day, when they came out. I haven't used it in a while, and I thought about picking it up again and do some architectural photography. I have the old 18-70mm lens which came with the camera, but I'd like to acquire a better lens. Do you have any suggestions?

How to shut video
Minolta was still making glass for JVC camcorders about ten years ago. Don't know if they are still making glass. I did read they think Minolta made the glass for the Panasonic 35-100mm f2.8 Micro Four Thirds. Even on their website they say they still make glass lens.

I do change some of them from time to time but overall, I really want to explore cameras and learn about them as well. There are cameras that I don’t like and didn’t make it to the videos but since they’re negative, I tend not to want to share them… I hope you understand… I thank you very much again for watching. Maybe you can test the higher ISO with DXO PureRaw that's the best noise reduction.
Недавно купил Sony a200, и Sony a300. Эти камеры не сильно отличаются от A100. Честно говоря, почему-то я в восторге. Цвета очень похожи на пленочные. Картинка далека от совершенства, но зато очень ретро.
Камеры управляются очень приятно. Хват отличный. Вид камеры не самый крутой, немного игрушечный. Но для стрит фотографии она просто великолепна. Мгновенно включается. Быстро фокусируется и почти не тратит заряд батареи. Можно использовать не только оптику Minolta но и м42. Правда это чуть посложнее. Но зато дает ощущение, как будто ты снимаешь на простую пленочную зеркалку.
В общем - прекрасная ретро-камера.
Фокусироваться на М42 сложно? Как у них видоискатель? Люблю старые CCD камеры, но Сони у меня пока не было
I can't remember what video I was watching but someone said Lightroom presets work better with older cameras with less megapixels. Are you finding the same thing?
