SEAF being inoperable after destroyer left never made sense, glad they fixed that.
It made sense to me but it was a bit unfair.
Thought the explanation was the Destroyer is still needed for targeting but it's nice they made the change
@@nickm1242 That explanation would be borderline weird because what would be the point of building a ground artillery when you need an orbiting Super Destroyer to use it.
You need to sync the Arty to destroyer so you can remote fire
Yeah, an artillery cannon built on a planet was surely supposed to be operable by any SE forces on the planet lol. Once we loaded it and programmed the targeting there is no reason for it not to work until it needs loading again/ re targeting again
Funny how all the hardcore folks were like "no its not too hard i solo lvl 9" and now the game is just better and more fun with the buffs. Arrowhead did good on this one
Tbf, I also could easily solo an entire Helldive Operation. But I personally didn’t find it very fun, and instead incredibly tedious and boring. This update was definitely a step in the right direction, even if it makes the game too easy.
Dark Souls and other games like it spawned this nonsense of making a game 'challenging' by requiring you to basically memorize everything about it. After that experience, certain people came forward who seemed intent on ALL games being similar, where you either learned each detail to a high degree and could perform an exact series of moves and actions to avoid death, or you weren't any good at the game.
What a lot of people missed was... that's only fun, or even possible, for a relatively small group of people, and in games like this one, playing by yourself is literally the wrong way to play. You want *everyone* to be able to get in on this, not just the hardcore master players who play the game with their toes (you laugh but there was this one Dark Souls player who somehow beat the game with all the graphics turned off. Like, he couldn't SEE anything. He seemed bored.)
@@darenabryant9100 great point, no matter how difficult it could be some people will do it. Doesnt validate it not being enjoyable. I never enjoyed the souls-like stuff that much really for that reason
@@darenabryant9100 And the kicker of it is, that isn't necessary even in dark souls. The people that are like that are just being pretentious. Some parts of the souls games are ridiculously hard (Malenia in Elden Ring), but just the main path to finish the game you can beat by upgrading the first weapon you get and just getting used to how the game controls. And no, using the spirit summons in Elden Ring isn't "cheating".

Fellow SPEAR truther! I feel like last patch did help, there were games where the lock-on was genuinely fine, but it really felt random whether it would work fine or just not work

Unironically made me have fun playing Helldive without being swamped in 5 Chargers, 10 Bile Spewers, and 3 Bile Titans with a sea of endless Bug Breaches. Same goes with the bots where it isn't endless drop ships, hulks, Rocket Devastators, and striders.
Half of the weapons feel useful now, especially with the changes done with the rocket sentry. So damn good now

Not the patch to fix everything in Helldivers but a HUGE step in the right direction. Cant wait to get out of work to try it myself
Agreed. Not that much buffs. There were multiple buffs to a small amount of items. Not multiple small buffs to everything.

Finally, Alexus is off the helm and Pilestedt took over the balancing decisions.
Glad to see they are trying to re-capture what made the game fun. It might be too little too late for most players but it's a breath of fresh air for the remaining player base.

Unfortunately between the nerfs, the psn issue, and now apparently some arrowhead discord mod banning people who dislike furry art was an issue the other day. I just wana play a fun game like this was the first two months 😩 but it feels like now it’s always sooomething

New armor effects I want: fire resistance, acid resistance, or faster reload.
faster reload would be really good. Also, why don't we have a single armored that increases extra magazines?

I was so hoping that the groundbreaker armor from Democratic Detonation would have fire or acid resist on it. Instead, we got engineering kit again.

Yay the spear can lock on for once, it went from being a usable very long range weapon to the worst short range rocket launcher, back to a reliable weapon

Thanks for not being an overly dramatic channel and keeping it fairly "as is" with fair opinions interjected.
Easiest way to make the AA stratagem fun is you choose your three stratagems and the game rolls your fourth. Take the back packs and support weapons out of the RNG pool so you'll either get a turret, orbital, eagle strike or mech.
In doing this you can either high roll and get exactly what you want or you'll get a stratagem you wouldn't normally use. This would give the underutilized stratagems a chance to shine.
I honestly think this could be the most fun stratagem if they make this change

AA defense made sense for taking one away.

I would have rather made it where you can select all 4 stratagem you want but the 4th is locked until you destroy the AA encampment on the map
I never understood why AA defenses wasn't simply a case of Eagle strikes being unavailable.
Like, make it so if you equip one, you can't call her in until you destroy the AA guns on the map.
Would make a hell of a lot more sense to me. They're AA guns, designed to shoot down airplanes. How tf were they preventing you from equipping a full 4 strategems?
One of the few things that is missing is the ability to open two man bunkers when playing solo
Some of the weapons definitely need some more work (looking mainly at the liberator penetrator and verdict) but this is a huge step in the right direction. I know people are still gonna complain about something, but this is definitely putting the game back into a better position
I personally really like the verdict pistol. Nice balance between the default pistol and the magnum. I really like it
@@iianmitchelldub I mean fair, but everyone was hyping it up to be a desert eagle. Unless Arrowhead plans on releasing an actual desert eagle, the verdict is kind of disappointing compared to what it should've been. An actual desert eagle would probably be on par or better than the senator. Either way my favorite so far is still the senator

Grenade pistol for bug holes n fabricators. Magnum if I need power, senator if I run heavy n need to kill trash and verdict lies in the middle. All depends on what my load out is

Generally a good push forward from the nerf heavy state of the game from April/May. The BG-14 still does not feel good personally, seeing non-penetrating hit markers on entry level bots with torso hits, which I don't think should happen with med pen; seems to have too much RNG? Both AR-61 & new AR-23A seem to be in decent places, though the loss of 5 rounds on '61 seems a bit silly.

I already used both the gatling and airburst so it's the highlight for me, all the other changes are amazing to see it's a positive direction that's for sure
Explosive crossbow might be top tier now, needs testing.

Against individual devestators or groups of up to like 3 it’s godly. Especially since it can close fabs now.
Still would rather have a Jar5 most of the time.

The new warbond guns absolutely suck but it's OK because they buffed a few other guns so we still got some new toys! The scope changes and the removal of the -1 stratagem modifier are the best changes of this patch!
Honestly though the booster seems really, really good. I haven't tried it yet so I don't know if it is.
I have nearly 3000 super credits so I'll be getting anyways but I'm only interested in the booster
I liked the carbine. Fits very well with an aggressive playstyle. The shotgun is not very good tho
Isk what you guys are talking about the shotgun sidearm 2 shots devestatora and berserker and the carbine suppresses the shit out of devestators with the demolition AR changes. Knife is only usable on bugs though I agree.
The bushwacker one shots hunters, and for me that's good
I already loved the nade launcher so more damage is a definate plus

And Qasar cannon cool down needs to be better.
Arc thrower is fine where it's at. Only thing that needs fixed is how the lightning won't arc when there are shrubs or slight inclines in between you and your target
What happened to the arc thrower? Did they shadow nerf it or something?
Played around with the turrets, they do better against bots, but can still melt due to the sheer volume of rockets which hasn't changed much and is now a little worse thanks to gunships being added to patrols. Against bugs...well, an attempt was made.
Mines are still too niche no matter how much damage is added to them to justify their use.
All the orbitals feel really good now, especially precision strike which can now one-shot most heavy enemies with it's significantly reduced call in time.
The HMG is still having teething issues, where a supply pack and recoil compensation armor still feels rather mandatory for how much it kicks while firing but it does indeed melt medium armor targets (like most bots) quickly. Don't use against gunships, it can deal with them but you will disappointed with it.
Tenderizer is now....good, it actually functions like a high caliber, highly accurate rifle despite being low armor pen. The rest of the assault rifles are still crap and the Sickle is right there.
Both Diligence rifles now feel really good thanks to a change in the sights being significantly less bright so you can see your target clearly, and the shots now go where you want them to. So that little bugbear has finally been cleared up.
Beware the new Flamer Hulk, he may not turn you into a crispy critter in a microsecond but he now moves faster then a berserker and has some new animations for his buzzsaw. You ever seen a walker doing an overhead hammer strike? Well neither did I until he did it.
Overall, a step in the right direction but sweet baby Jesus they still need to readjust their spawns. Regular Chargers have been seemingly replaced whole sale by Behemoth Chargers in diff 7-9 and are being spammed relentlessly like it's the launch build of the game. With the same problems of the Chargers at launch, all your AT options against the B-Chargers is half as effective, so no more 1 shot headshots and enjoy this fast moving bullet sponge that can ragdoll you with ease.
This company and larian studios are bosses in the industry rn fr and somehow the larger companies can’t pull their shit together

it feels AMAZING now, the slower fire rate, faster reload, and higher damage were exactly what it needed. I took it on bot dives and it just wrecks ALL of them 🤩
HMG still handles like an unwilling donkey, still don't have enough ammo though, tried it and still hated it... shooting while prone or crouched isn't viable when things are running straight for you.

@@Mikeofzedead I do use it, but it still feels shit to use because aiming with it on the move is awful, on higher difficulties you're on the move constantly even against bots.
Not sure if it says it anywhere in patch notes, but the “busted up” Hellbombs that you find in the wild now immediately explode if you hit them with something explosive (as opposed to the dust and then delayed explosion when just firing a round into them) haven’t tried all the weapons yet but the expendable AT and any grenade type DO cause an immediate explosion.

I will say the spear is sooo nice with the lock on and lock on sound indication like a stinger or javelin and its pretty quick now. Can't wait for them to fix it for fabricator lock ons, maybe they could make it slightly slower for fabricators or towers just so its not too strong but feels nice when it locks on. Eagle strafe run and gattling barrages melts hulks and tanks now 💪. So alot of good variety to bring strategems instead of the same ole same strategems like eagle air strike, or rail cannon strike for big armor all the time. A well coordinated squad can basically carry all different kinds of strategems that can hit almost everything

My go to strats were 500kg, obital raolgun, obital laser, orbital strike.
Now it might be gatling, airburst, strike, and railgun.

i have only ever seen the charger behemoth once before this update, but i see them a lot more now, and yet sizzling their foot drops them like a second longer than normal chargers
I had a bug once that made like, 30 of them spawn like a big crab colony. Absolutely insane to behold.

Started the game yesterday and it’s been nothing but fun and holy shit moments. I’ve been managing to keep up with the higher level players during hard difficulty missions
I thought in the trailer it showed you could change skin tone with the new armor but I can’t seem to find the option ingame

After experiencing three days of the massive amount of heavy spawns in addition to the massive amount of small spawns I can with 100% certainty say that the heavy spawns have not been reduced.
This is the great thing about helldivers they got feedback listened and made changes now it's time to see how well it works. If it works i can't wait
It’d be sick to see the AA comeback as a side objective. You choose all 4 stratagems at the start of the mission but the last slot is locked until you destroy the AA guns. Once you destroy the AA guns on the mission it unlocks the 4th stratagem

The changes to the Spear, the Hulk Flamethrower, and a few other things are immediately noticeable as better.
Took the last month off but with this update I’ll be returning. This patch was well over due and glad to see it here.
The spear is soooo much fun now. The lock on is so much faster. I always liked it anyway but it's really good now

On PS5 it was fine all morning until the update. Now if i press start the game crashes. It seems to be a conflict with personal settings because i created an alt account and it lets me press start without crashing.

Now the real question is, have the fixed the bug where Bluetooth audio is fcked up for some people! I won’t be playing until they fix it, there’s no reason their kernel anticheat should change your audio/mic settings
This update has revitalized my want to play the game. Ontop of being able to get super samples a difficulty earlier means I don’t have to bust my chops to gets them.

glad to see buffs but man i was really hoping for a bit more armor pen on weapons. while i haven't tried any of this yet the primaries didn't seem to get enough from a on paper look. stratagems seem fine and far more viable against heavys. acid change is much appreciated! overall very happy to see this update it makes me wanna jump back in and try the "cruddy" strats.

Man- i really hope they fix the bug with the gunship Fabricators. In a few games (not every) we would set off like 3 hell bombs next to them and they do like 0 damage to the gunship Fabricators
Next patch they need to add way more tangible stats onto everything. The after that add weapon customization on the level of ghost recon.
They should add the ammo calibre for the weapons in the tooltip that way we know which weapons are "larger calibre"
as a machine gun enjoyer, this is fantastic for me. i mostly used the mg43, so its light buff is great, but ill definitely have to give the heavy machin gun another go with its 150 damage. might actually become useful at dealing with devastator hordes.
edit: the heavy mg destroys devastor hordes like its nothing. the increase reload speed makes it viable, shooting the gunship engines destroys them if you get a few good bursts in, you can kill hulks shooting the head but its hard and i noticed the ADS tends to hit low, so use third person aiming

Man I love the tenderizer I love the sound the of it, the feel of it, the look of it, the damage, everything this new patch is exactly what helldivers 2 needed im seeing people use the fucking HMG and it’s melting enemies
I bring airburst on every bug mission and p strike on every bot mission. The buffs are unneeded but appreciated

Me too. I never really grinded the game. I don’t think anyone should lol. that’d be like grinding L4D. It’s fun with friends or now and then. Everyone kept overhyping this “huge” update and I’m pissed lol. I hate that I let it get to me. I honestly was expecting more maps/mission types expansion. And vehicle(s). And freaking new enemy factions -.-
Still haven't seen a charger behemoth 😂 but i haven't played any bug missions today so it is what it is
After reading the notes myself and watching this video I'm really happy that the only real nerfs happening is reduced accuracy while moving if crouched or prone and the Pummeler not being able to stun larger enemies. Other than that there seems to be a TON of buffs to underperforming weapons and stratagems, many of which I can't wait to try out.

I will have to disagree with the tenderizer. I think it was nerfed more than anything. It’s extra damage doesn’t offset the loss of two lags and mag size
@@ifoundmemallet3394 it's actually gonna have the DPS to kill things quickly enough so with proper aim it won't need the extra ammo. Plus our of the few matches I used it I never even got close to burning through all my mags.
@@clintmcbride7830 I’m just saying it wasn’t warranted. Hell All AR’s should have at least 45 round mags with at least 10 mags each. That won’t allow you to solo everything but it gives you breathing room to work with to take the frustration out of a fun pve game
For some reason, when i use friend only mode, it shuts down my pc and i have no clue why

Purifier is still kind of weak for bots at least. It just doesnt headshot mediums.
Eruptor feels powerfull now but still would like its damage dropoff lowered so it csn have a AEO effect on small enemies.
The Crossbow still feels underwhelming. Just a worse Eruptor at all times...
Surprised 0 shotgun changes, specially Breaker SnP which is just worse Breaker incindiary.
Spear fix is amazing, cant wait to take out factories with it! Tho there is a bug where it doesnt reload all 3 rockets when you have the superior packaging method mod. Only reloads 2 from a supply box.
The scope missalignment is still an issue for some weapons, this should be of outmost importance to fix.
The proximity rocket launcher really needs a rework ir serious buff to be worth at all.
Railgun still too low in damage, pen is okay but damage still feels weak.
The game feels much better now, a significant improvement. These guys are actually listening to the community!
I still feel like they need to add more content in terms of stratogems, upgrades etc, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.
