Hi there! This wig chat is about this cute, easy to wear wig called Straight Up With A Twist by Raquel Welch in the beautiful color Shaded Cappuccino! A favorite of mine!
Like most all of my wigs, this one was purchased from my own funds.
My head measurements are:
Circumference: a tad over 21"(a tish over)
Ear to Ear: 12"
Front hairline to nape (just below occipital bone) 12"

Funny enough I just received my Straight Up With A Twist wig yesterday! My wig journey began a few years ago, thinning hair was turning me into a depressed recluse. Straight Up With A Twist is the first wig of great quality I have been able to afford and I cried with joy when I put it on for the first time! I found your channel a few weeks ago and your videos helped me choose which wig might provide me the best fit, color and style. Before getting this wig, I had pretty much given up on the idea that I would ever feel pretty and confident again going out.
I love this wig! Just now, watching this video I finally found out what wig I have. I bought mine some months ago, used, on Ebay and there was no description but the size of the cap and boy ... It's amazing! It's the first wig I ever bought and it is very flattering. I'm not sure if my color is shaded wheat/sand/biscuit but I will for sure buy it again, new, shaded biscuit!! I'm a newbie ;-D

I have this wig in 2 colors (I’m in the brown spectrum). It was my first wig and what a great choice it was, so much so that I can’t seem to find another I like as much. Those RW lace fronts are just amazing! Another great Jill review. You’re the best!

Hi Jill. I have a favor to ask. I am also a wig wearer (1 year now). I have watched many of your videos and it was you that gave me the confidence to take the plunge. I could never go back now. So much freedom. I watched the video about how you wash with Wooiite and condition with downy. Have you altered the method or are you still continuing this same care for your synthetic wigs? It’s funny Jill I feel the same - I always had traditional fibre then I tried HD and the way the fibres restore in response to heat…there is just no going back!!

hi! ok so love love love shaded cappuccino! This wig is soooo cute on you! and I see you are wearing your new tencel shirt! Good find and good color. This wig looks like one of the most natural wigs you have reviewed. The length and color are just right, I did however attempt a Jackson and its a big small but the cut is nice. Also finally got some peach blur love it! AND toofaced chocolate bar. Have you done an eye look with that? Keep up the good work!

I ordered the arrow wig from simply wigs it is my first wig but I have discovered that the ear taps does not sit right against my temple and the lace front is very itchy. I have such sensitive skin the longer hair has made my skin red I have taken the tag off so unfortunately cannot return it . But I was looking at your clip on CZcams straight up with a twist thinking of ordering it. You explain everything in detail I still have lot to learn regarding different caps etc. Stay well and STAY safe from Dawn in the UK.
Do you cut the tags off of your wig. I think those would bug me. I like that new color on you. It really flatters your complexion
Hi Jill. Love your wig chats and reviews. I am new to wigs. Hardest thing for me is picking color. My first 2 wigs are Jon Renau Malibu blonde. I am thinking of buying Straight up with a twist. In your opinion what Rachel Welch color is closest to Malibu blonde. I like that the root is not too much darker in Malibu blonde. The one you are reviewing here looks to be a darker root. But hard to tell on CZcams. The colors are never really as what’s being seen. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks for being there for us newbies

Hi Jill, well l have looked at your videos of the Straight up with a Twist side by side now and l still think that the Shaded Biscuit one is longer at the side than this RL12/22SS. I really wanted the one I ordered to be longer at the sides like your very first one in Shaded Biscuit but it is very much like this one and shorter.. I love watching your videos so keep up the good work. Thanks xx
I love your reviews and you speak with authority ! I am a brunette as you can see but I’d love to bring in a little bit lighter blonde wig since the gray is definitely more prominent now at 62 lol 😉 is there another color by Raquel Welsh and John Reno that you could suggest that’s not quite as blonde as the cappuccino?
This wig is absolutely gorgeous on you. I think I have it, but I haven't worn it yet. Guess I'd better get it out. I tend to grab Upstage more often than not.

Mine clumps easily and quickly and the ends are fraying considerably.
I didn't know that it's important to use heat on them regularly to keep them looking new.
Jill, if you ever have a wig you don't wear or need any longer, I would love to have it. I can't afford to buy these beautiful wigs like the ones you wear!

I need comfortable first and second elegance. This hair pieces do look amazing. I’m allergic and sensitive on my Swedish family line. I want to support Raquel Gabor lines. I have not ever tried Renau lines yet.

This wig is so beautiful, but I just can’t see myself spending $300 for synthetic. What is the difference between these synthetic fibers vs. ones I can get at Sam’s beauty for 25/50 bucks? Synthetics usually last me 2 - 3 months, if I wear it every day. Do these synthetic fibers last longer?

Hello. I am relatively new to wigs. I currently am on my second one. I've read and seen people say they use Woolite to wash it in and Downy to condition. Is this okay? And must you use products for synthetic wigs or can you get by with regular stuff. I'm not one that uses a lot of stuff.

I've heard so many horror stories on the HD fibers how do you keep them looking nice?
They do break down pretty quickly...I have just learned to live with their varying degrees of 'breaking down'. I do think it's ridiculous how quickly synthetic wigs in general break down compared to their cost. They really need to make advancements w/ the fibers!
Is there anything that I can do to my heat friendly fibers to make them soft again. I have tried steam, wash, curling iron, flat iron, fabric softener. I have 4 upstage by RW (love them), but after about 4-6 wears its fraying. Too expensive to keep buying. TIA
It is true...they do break down quickly. That soft feeling they have brand new only lasts a few wears. I have become use to that. Do you spray them w/ detangler spray after each wear? (lightly). You can even use diluted fabric softener as well in a spray bottle. I am going to be doing a little field testing w/ human hair products that I have heard work well on synthetic fibers too. I recently purchased a steamer....but, have yet to use it. The thing about doing that is it takes the memory of the style out, so it's gotta be put back in with styling. I'll put that off until my wigs get unwearable. ;) It is frustrating, and as much as these wigs are....I wish they would come up w/ a better heat friendly fiber that lasts a LOT longer!!
Jill Lynn Beauty Therapy I do use the JR leave in conditioner. These wigs get so clumpy that when I bend by head the hair sticks straight out, lol. I also have tried thinning shears on the really clumpy ones. Nothing really lasts though. 💕

Well this new one is not as long either is it? I really wanted mine to be like your first one..... Do you think that they should all be the same because l was so disappointed with my one because it wasn't longer at the sides...xoxox :(
Hi Jean! I do believe they are the same length. My first one appears longer, but only because i have gained some weight since that one, and it 'looks' longer. Wigs will always look longer on different face shapes and sizes etc... For instance, ALL of them always look longer on Taz,. I have to keep that in mind when I watch her reviews because our face shape, and body type are polar opposites. ;)
