    Thank you so much for your video! You explained it so well it was easy for me to understand. I want to do so many renovations to my house, but my husband works a lot so I’m taking up on learning how to do all that. In other videos they talk so fast and and it’s so confusing. You are also well articulated and I like how you describe every single step loud and clear while naming the tools. So thank you again! 🙏🏼

    Thanks for going straight In to the project. Got tired of looking for a diy vids. came across lots where there is a whole lot of talking and "joke telling" not a whole lot of project!

    I used the basis of this video and was able to throw a fence up that looks really nice, working in the rain, in about 3 hours. Used the same brackets, wasn't quite as meticulous as you were, but I measured for the brackets and all the wood. For the panels I eye balled it and it still turned out well. Didn't stain though, might go back and stain at a later date, but for now it will serve it's purpose.

    Nice using hangers for the stringers - a lot easier than toe nailing.
    Gates should always (unless using corner brackets) have diagonal brace(s) attached to frame boards to prevent sagging / keep gate square. Like an "N" shape. MAKE SURE THE BRACE BOARD(s) GO UP FROM THE HINGED SIDE, the other way is useless / free end will still sag. I replaced a gate that a lady had for years - it always hit ground & had to be lifted to open at all - the builder had put the brace in backwards. She got the labor free.

      @JesseWright68 Před 10 lety

      Thanks for the tip! I just installed a brace backwards! D'oh! No wonder the gate is all wonky.

    Nice job on the fence, I'm going to go redo my drooping gates. I've used a 'Stanley' cable turnbuckle systems on my deck gates. But they need adjustments and the corner brackets pull away as the wood ages. Btw you do a great job on your videos. They are very informative and the specific tool use and your emphasis on safety is great. I started watching your dishwasher repair and learned alot and that brought me to your fence video. Excellent job!

    Good video.
    few things of note
    secure the gate when screwing in the boards
    put down drop sheet or cardboard when painting
    use chalk line or string to get a perfect level line for the screws

    thx

    As a professional painter, I would like to add that it would of made a lot more sense to paint all the 1 coat before installed. Much more faster and easier. Also, which is more important... you never paint/ stain a fence that has brand new wood right away. Pressure treated has chemicals inside that need to be released to avoid peeling in the future. Cedar wood yo can do sooner then pressure treated. Besides that.. great video!

    Always paint or stain your wood at least one coat before assembly.....otherwise your timber is not fully covered. You have bare areas hiding behind the rails

    They make brackets that can be attached to concrete with concrete anchors. Then the bracket holds the post in place.

    I need to section off a yard for the dogs as well I need about 20-25 feet total with a gate no taller then 4 feet and it's going into dirt
    What would you expect the cost to be? Just a ballpark number I don't know if it's worth doing it myself since getting all the fencing is proving difficult through Home Depot etc.
    thanks anyone in advance for your help!
