- From Sky's Football Years series, this is from the Match of 2001 when Wycombe Wanderers beat Leicester City, then 6th in the Premiership to set up an FA Cup Semi Final encounter with Liverpool at Villa Park. But that was not the only part of the story - the man who scored the winner was one Roy Essandoh, who signed for Wycombe after manager Lawrie Sanchez placed an advert on teletext as he was desperately short of strikers.

Not even a Wycombe fan but this makes me tear up, this is the kind of stuff what makes me love football.
15 years later Leicester themselves produced the 'Greatest Underdog Story of all Time'. Everything's relative, innit?
@@kisbie the whole full circle thing is beautiful in football especially
I've lost my love for football recently, but it's stuff like this that restores my love for the game.
The magic of the cup!
The story was all of Wycombe's strikers were injured and the loan striker Sam Parkin had been called back by his parent club Chelsea. So Wycombe rang around some free agents in Ian Wright and Gianluca Vialli to see if they could fill the void Wright declined because of his ankle injury that he had when he was at Burnley the previous season and Vialli declined because it was too soon for him as he had been fired by Chelsea earlier that season. So they went and put an advert on Ceefax and the rest was history.
Remember it like yesterday, couldn’t get tickets for filbert street but watched it on the big screen at Adams park
never gets old
When football and FA cup meant alot
I remember this so well, Stockport fan but I developed a real soft spot for Wycombe after this day. What a moment.

remember this well! bloody brilliant for a neutral!
anyone know where i can watch football years on the net?
Why don’t they ever show Beardsley’s disallowed GOAL from 88
Poor refereeing never gets mentioned
Wish someone would do this for a goalkeeper - I'd be right there!
Slough Town need a goalie for their FA Cup second qualifying round game.
Celtic could be doing with a goalie.
I don't remember sky three.
Song name?
