  • this video I go over some tricked out mobile hunting system and accessories I plan on pairing with the XOP system this fall. Mobile hunting is all about being effiecient and this system should allow for more scouting than ever. #mobilehunting

Glad to see emphasis placed on woodsmanship . You always have had some of that . Thanks for taking us along on the journey.

Looks like a great set up. True how it changes once the season starts. I'm going with just a turkey vest and no pack. 3 sticks each with a two step aider. In my turkey vest I have all the essentials. I'm ditching the camera arm, extra camera and just going with my phone and the painted arrow magnetic phone mount.

I went to a trad bow years ago and haven't needed my compound sense. I hunt Michigan public land and you realize that deer like to hang out where you can rarely shoot past 20 yards anyway.

Great video. Totally agree with the whole getting back to woodsmanship philosophy

That’s one light and fast little setup. I really like it and the reasoning behind it. I do want to get a stick bow someday soon. I like the idea of running it for a month after the start of the season and get reps in the woods. 🌳🏹🦌

So what was the verdict on the retrograde? Did you go back to the cold world?
    I’m struggling to make a decision between the 2. I’m 5’11 175

I changed to a stick bow 2 years ago. When I got out of the military. I wanted to level the playing field. Holy cow I love it and I sold all of my compounds. Shot a doe and missed a buck. I can for sure say you kill one deer with that bow and I can see you getting rid of your compounds😂

I don’t have it, but I know the Sitka Tool belt holds Nalgene bottles and cinch down. I like my Platow pack from Trophyline. You could add a pouch on the side via molle to fit water if you can’t fit it in the pack.

    • @TS1023TS
      @TS1023TS Před rokem

I pulled out my Platow pack and checked it out and can fit larger sized water bottles in it. You can take off the backpack portion of the pack too and just have the pack/storage section too. Duals well for saddles if you choose to use one.

Same here. Holds everything I need. If I’m going somewhere I may need to pack a deer out. I just throw in my ultra light Eddie Bauer back pack. It folds into its own pocket and cost like 20 bucks. Takes up very little room. In the tool belt and can throw it over the stand and walk out.

Trusting the 2 Sticks is something I am going to try this year on public land scouting missions. I like the idea. Its hard to trust in my mind. But I Can do it. Just have to trust it.

That Retrograde is a bit tiny but I’m seriously considering the Cold World. Have any idea if a couple of 32” lone wolf sticks would pack onto either if the seat wasn’t in the shelf position? Reason I ask is I’m easily getting 15’ (w/ double steps on top) using the Backwoods Mobile Gear moveable versa aider, and then an old Ameristep strap-on step at the top to get onto my Lone Wolf Assault 2. Love my Lone Wolf but the lighter weight of the Cold World sure would be nice.

So the zv1 packs better / takes better photos / better b roll camera
Ur zx53 better battery / better zoom so ur deer footage is gonna crush that zv1
Zv1 can shoot 120 fps so slomo

@@thewhitetailexperience6055 I didn’t know with the clear image or digital if it would reach far enough? This made me look at the ZV1 and the RX100 v2 which has more zoom.

There’s the ULA Burst. Never tried it but they make good ultralight backpacks and it looks like a good fanny.
I use a 3 piece storage system to avoid a backpack. Marsupial bino harness or hill people gear chest pack; admin pouch under the seat; and a Maxpedition octa versapack fanny.
If you utilize smart water bottles (lightweight option that’s bpa free) and shock chord creatively mounted, you can secure a light weight liter of water horizontal above a Fanny. The Fanny itself acts like a shelf and the water being squared and centered close on your body is more stable during travel. The thin long shape of smart water bottles makes them a bit more stable when horizontal and you’ll notice the weight difference on a lightweight pack like a Fanny.
The trick is to get the shock chord attached wide over the length of the bottle then synch it down. Works great and is very low bulk. When not carrying water you can strap fleece, hats, gloves, etc with the shock chord.
2 liters of water gets a little heavy for a Fanny without it sagging. However you can use the shock chord trick to afix bottle number 2 vertically on your tree stand seat/shelf if you forego the backpack. Take the bottle on the Fanny up the tree with you, leave the second that was on the stand at the base of the tree, then store a third in your vehicle for before and after the hunt.
Also as I’m sure you know, keep lots of high fat snacks because it’s small yet calorically dense (9 calories per gram vs 4 calories per gram for carbs or protein) and fatty foods have a higher thermic effect internally due to fat being harder to break down (keeps you warmer). What most don’t know is that around 20% of our water intake per day comes from food, so it’ll keep you from needing as much water.
