One of the earliest Rita events ends with Rita finding a cake Durandal baked for her. When she tasted it, it turned out that Durandal made the cake using salt instead of sugar.

About the other Durandals, what I guess that happens aside from Bianka being it's own character, is that Otto changed Dudu so much that even the tree itself dont consider her a Kiana anymore. Her journey and otto tutoring along with experiments made her a completely different being and basically trolled the tree, and that makes Kiana "K423" Kaslana the 'official Kiana' by the tree judgement. So that makes Dudu free from average Kiana parallelism like having space-like powers or the universe conspiring to turn her into a "villain" in the end

The VNs are technically in-game content since they're located in the Ai-chan phone in CN and JP.
So I really wish the EN localization officially translates them already and add them in-game, especially since the VN contents have been very important to the story since HoS arc.

I actually see a lot of theories on reddit. After she became playable, those theories increased more.Only that there were many people who did not agree with that theory. Currently those same people are the ones who say that now everything is possible because they had gotten that plot twist out of their ass.

@@zodomuchiha for me it was a legit theory with good facts but I always hated and opposed it just because I didn't wanted Durandal to steal the Kaslana lineage from K-423 Kiana. And now Durandal as a unic person became a cheap copy of Kiana. I know they must feel like sisters but it feels too forced and rushed. It's like when you adopt a girl and force your actual kid to call her sister and feel family bonds on the first day. It's more sad than inspiring. They should've give the full ark to develop this and unleash every known hint slowly.
It's just I emotionally attached to other girls but not to Durandal and this is their mistake - lack of emotion bonds with her from players. Dunno why it's this way. And I think because of this new "better" Kiana they will just kill our K-423. Because they don't want two Kianas.

Also, in chapter 2-16 in game story. When rita said "That kaslana?" To kiana, aunt teriri answered it by "no, not that kaslana. She hasn't any relation with that" (i kinda forgot by what the full sentences but in the nutshell, that's it)

@@nicholas6171 Technically it wouldn't matter when Rita is the one asking questions but she actually knew the truth all along which is a big part of why she was so diligent is being there for her. Even if she had revealed the truth there's nothing she could have done to change it (she was only like 15ish at the time) plus she knew better than anyone that Otto probably wouldn't be too fussed about killing her this time and just trying some new plan again but she could make sure Bianka never had to be alone.
This is why I can't take it seriously when people say dudu=real kiana came out of nowhere, they've been hinting at it for so long I knew they would make it canon
this is usually the people that never bothered to read other sources outside the game and ignored all these hints, relatively new players that rushed story, etc

Being new is no excuse because... what would they know? I'm actually new btw, started in july, but I still read all the manga and the VNs. Funnily enough, I was starting to think "maybe she's not OG kiana" because of "the years not adding up". Lol I didn't even consider the possibility that her birth YEAR was fake too! And I thought the baby kiana in 2nd eruption seemed too old to be 2 years old.
@@TimZzzi I don't see why complain that it's "too obvious", they obviously put all those hints on purpose. If anything should be complained about it's that they took forever to confirm it, to "pay off" for the plotline.
But then, that just makes them impatient. Honkai takes it's time to pay off plotlines and I love that, wish I was a fan from earlier on lol.
The biggest clue for me is when they shown Kiana's flashback about Sieg and real Kiana in chp 24/25. The one who voiced the smoll real Kiana is Mamiko Noto (Bianka's VA) since then, pretty much its already confirmed by JP staff that Bianka is the real Kiana

i once told my friend a random theory that Durandal is the real Kiana, and the proof i use is her age. in the wiki Kiana real age is 19 but physically 16 while Durandal age is 16 but looks 19 (since she lost her memory and the doctor decided to give her birth year from 2000), so i told my friend that the real Kiana must have been older than the clone cuz in second eruption Real Kiana is like 3 or 4 years old while the clone was born after the Second eruption end (sadly my friend thinks its a wild theory and doesnt makes sense)

Bianka is only physically older because of the events that led up to her becoming "Durandal" and absorbing the bubble universe into herself. The sword matured her body somewhat so that she could better handle the power

Just realize while playing the story mode a while ago that white comet and dea anchora have a similar axe kick.
Infact, all of Dudu's battlesuits get that axe kick finisher on her Weapon Actives when it's used against medium sized enemies (ie. Chariot Honkai beasts).
Also, this might be reaching a bit and it's a bit meta, but Durandal seems to have a few movesets which are almost straight lifted from Dante of Devil May Cry fame (ex. both VG and BKE battle suits have a "Million Stab"-type move) and as we all know, Kiana's dad Siegfried is already more or less a walking Dante reference.

Also that Otto and Bianka scene is a paralel to the Second Eruption manga where Theresa wakes up after Otto wipes out and modifies her memories about Second Eruption. He was also peeling an apple while sitting in a similar position.

I'm quite disappointed than Dudu is a Kaslana because I was hoping that she can beat the honkai without any special powers. But in the end she's Kevin but blond and female (wich is very nice)
Moriso forgot to add the similarities in the way Flamescion and Dea Anchora tie their hair. I also found it weird that miHoYo would design two characters with the same element (fire) and include similar hair ornaments. Initially played it off as placebo until 5.5 decided to say no lmao
Very early on in chapter 3 the Hyperion crew uses Durandal as a distraction by having Theresa broadcast her coordinates to the Anti-Entropy troops and soon Bianka asks them how AE were able to find her exact location. In the end it's Kiana who suggest telling her this absurd tale that AE only happened to be on vacation at the spot where Bianka landed (as they were fighting around a beach resort) and she actually believes it thinking it's a perfectly logical explanation!
Then, Himeko and Theresa comment something along the lines of "She seems to be dilligent and strong, but she must really be quite dumb to fall for such an idiotic plan" while Kiana muses that she and Dudu are actually on the same wavelength and they might get along pretty well, but then gets mildly offended when she realizes that Teri just implied that they are both just idiots.
About the counterargument, it could also be that Su just handpicked a couple of timelines in which the incident happened as to not tip off Durandal instantly to her real identity. Since he was already excpecting her, we can assume that he himself knew through Project:VALUKA that doing so would probably not be the smartest idea. Were she to know already that she's the OG Kiana, she wouldn't follow Otto as far as she already had, which could have thrown a wrench into all sorts of things and not necessarily for the better.
I know some ppl are gonna be disappointed since all the important hints & character development about Durandal are outside of the game itself. But in the end, HI3 focus more on our main trio; Kiana, Mei & Bronya. So other characters backstory are either getting a compressed version or being translated to other medium such as Manga and VN. Fu Hua and her history with her disciple for example got her own VN, important past event like 2nd eruption got its own manga & etc.
I find the problem to be how late they decided to give Durandal actual in-game development (as opposed to extended media) in relation to how much screentime she actual has now. If a character like Durandal is going to show up in our faces this much without any real development people are going to be frustrated and disappointed
@@muteshock_ which is still kind of a joke since back then it's not as if Fu Hua was any better than Durandal is now. Honestly it's not as if development was all that necessary for those first few appearances, in fact it would have messed with the flow and been forced.

yea, I both love and hate this side of Hi3. While using other medias gave other characters much more development and lore than possible with just the game, it kinda forced players to get out of their way to enjoy the story to its fullest

Didn't Durandal and Kiana both destroy an antique, expensive, door that turned out to have been unlocked during the bunny girl event? Also didn't Kiana come up with a ridiculous excuse for why Durandal's location was leaked in chapter 3. Something something, "I would believe" - Kiana. And then Durandal buys it without question. There's a lot of Easter eggs when you go back and look.

personally, how i started to think she's the real kiana is:
just by reading second key manga and looking at durandal you can see some similarities between her and cecilia
the hair, that's it, the hair is literally like cecilia's it's too obvious
in chapter 15(?) when she knew about gun kata technic, she says she "read" about it from books or something but that's kinda suspicious, i don't think a normal people would know about the kaslana gun kata from somewhere, unless they're a kaslana themselves right?

Her Shariac and Kaslana genes are actually lackluster compared to her parents. What makes Bianka special (and strong) is that she has limitless potential compared to other people. Her talents are mediocre at the beginning, but she can keep improving herself over and over and over again without limit. And considering how hardworking she is, it's unsurprising that she's as strong as she is right now.

And Theresa herself even mentioned unlike Reanna and Cecilia who obtained their S-rank largely due to their innate talents, Durandal became one through pure hard work and determination. She's not an instant "I'm good at everything" type of character, but she can become that person and even beyond that so long as she keeps training herself.

Im a new player, only started last November, but when I reached the chapter with Cecilia in the game, I immediately noticed the BANGS (I was using Valkyrie Gloria a lot so it was very noticeable for me lolol)
For me. I thought that Durandal is Cecilia because of the bangs hairstyle and one of the early chapters that she's one of the owners of the Abyss flower. From I remember Cecilia can only hold that Divine key, but then it comes to my mind that our MC Kiana is just a clone. I started denying the fact that she's the real kiana. Not only she has the Schariac bloodline but also knows little about the Kaslana Gun Kata or something. Which was sus
not only Cecilia can hold that Divine key, they were many others before Cecilia with Elysia been the 1st as far as we know.
But (and correct me if I’m wrong) I recall that though not the first or only wielder of the abyss flower, Cecilia was one to the strongest due to her high honkai resistance allowing her to wield it without damage to herself (see shigura holding it for just a bit in second eruption and nearly dying). And one of the reasons Cecilia had such high honkai resistance and compatibility with the abyss flower was due to her Shaniac blood line, (Ana shaniac being an example with a high enough honkai resistance to be turned into a herrsher).
If part of the reason Cecilia was able to become the strongest Valkyrie was due to her bloodline allowing her to efficiently wield abyss flower, then it makes sense Bianca who inherited her blood to be able to do the same
The new Equinox battlesuit on Durandal seems to support this fact because of how her hair is fading from blonde to white, the hair color of the Kaslanas.
There's also the hint in chapter 14, when Durandal saves Kiana after she falls out of the sky. Look at how she reaches out for her face, just before Mei gets there. That isn't a I'm-taking-this-prisoner-back-to-Schicksal move there.

Plus, Kiana has come so far, in the early chapters she bitterly said Durandal "sounds like a witch" due to grandiose descriptions of her while being lectured by Theresa lol.

For me who just noticed the hints of the recent chapters, it did came kinda out of nowhere, but I never thought it was lazy or bad writing, saying that would be just a disrespect to hi3 team, that obviously care and love their game, something very rare nowadays.

It probably felt that way because the part where the HOMU says she is Kiana Kaslana was just in the in-game text. Would have been more impactful if it had short cutscene for the reveal. Or if they put it in a way that Dudu pieced it together herself instead of an imaginary being just outright spelling it out for her.

I sure look forward to some more Durandal emotions because, to be honest, I don’t actually dislike her because she’s op anymore, but because she’s boring, her ingame expression is not even the ‘laid’ one but literally just... stare.
Aside from that, I cannot say that I didn’t enjoy her being her in the manga when she has personality and smiles a lot. It makes her more lively. So, yeah! I shall be waiting for even more development of hers. I don’t want to hate anyone in HI3 except for that creepy Welt clone ugh

Also in chapter 15, there's a scene with Kevin and WS where they hint at knowing the truth about Dudu's true identity.
One more hint missed by the translation of EN server. In CN server, the full name of DA's weapon is "Starlance Sagittarius", whicn is refered to Kiana's birthday.
Ataegina is also the name of a goddess. Just an interesting thing to note since her name then can be interpreted as "white goddess". Which also makes it interesting that her newest battlesuit is white and she is contrasted by riding a black horse. Quite suitable as it match the black and white theme of the Abyss Flower.
More specifically, actually, is that Ataegina is a goddess of "rebirth," as one of the possible etymologies for her name means "reborn." Some sources also say that she's actually tied to Diana, the moon goddess, as she is a moon goddess as well (other sources also claim that she may, in fact, be Diana herself). As we know, Diana is where Kiana gets her name from.
So it would be "white, reborn." :)

@@Sakuyamon You're right. I mostly talked about one of the possible etymologies for the name Ataegina/Ataecina itself (the roots "atte-" and "geno-"), which I felt was more relevant.
as for me, the hint I found the most strong as an evidence of dudu being the real kiana is the shariac blood, like how they say her honkai resistance is high, thats the most sus line for me lmao.

I think the first thing what hinted it for me was when Theresa mentioned Durandal in chapter 3. What Theresa said about Durandal remembered me of Kiana.
I assume the different AUs is probably just she would want to strike out a different path form her parents and dye her hair and change her name

also, DA suit has references to the gun kata, since the axe kick and the puching sequence is similar to valkyrie ranger gun kata gameplay
Many of those hints can be overlooked and unnoticed as only coincidental in most cases, doesn’t change that the reveal was truly shocking.
since before they reveal it, the only thing that make me think that durandal are kiana is because she looks like cecilia 😂. thats it😂. She really remind me with cecilia. their hair, their style, their weapon. everything. May I ask when was the manga 2nd eruption published? Was it 2nd eruption published first, then durandal was introduced/durandal's novel was published?

The problem is that the LN was all in Chinese and just recently got that translated, so I don't get the LN reference. However, ever since the Abyss Flower released (even before the Pri Arm one), my theories were concluded into two possibilities:
1. Either Real Kiana are no longer "alive in the same dimension". And Durandal is just another clone of "Kiana" (or perhaps that's the Real Kiana after Otto put her somewhere to another dimension so she doesn't grow like what "Kiana" should be), or...
2. If K423 is "Real Kiana" 's body clone but got inserted another consciousness ("Sirin"), then Durandal could be the "Real Kiana" ' s mind but with another body... or perhaps it's the true body but it got modified.
Bruh I never imagine those things got mixed up lol.
Oh yes, another addition. If you look a bit closer, Kiana has silver hair and Durandal has gold hair (that's quite a couple lol), but they both have the same blue eyes. Talking about coincidence. 😂
Btw, I want to ask is there actually some bit of story adjustment here? Because as far as I remember, the story in 2018 told that Siegfried had already lost Real Kiana even when she was still a little child (I think even not 5 y.o. atm). Then he broke Otto's lab and pick up her child, to only find out that the one he picked up was K423 instead.
So, I don't get the feeling that K423 and Real Kiana had actually ever met if I solely based on that 2018 story alone. Perhaps, this is just some bit of tweaks.

-Siegfried and Bianka(using real Kiana is kind of annoying so allow me to call her Bianka) went together to rescue Kiana. That's when Bianka first saw her
-There were some complications and Bianka got kidnapped with Kiana
-Siegfried went back to either get Bianka and Kiana back or just Bianka, but ended up with Kiana
-Later Siegfried realized that Kiana isn't Bianka
And the rest is obvious, tho I can't say the part between Kiana's rescue and Bianka's kidnapping is 100% valid, it's just how I picture it based on what we've got

although im relatively new to honkai and its lore, just by durandal owning abyss flower was suspicious to me. i had always been curious about the real kiana's whereabouts so when it was mentioned that she had Cecilia's weapon I knew something was up
You know... in the early chapters when we were going to rescue Kiana they did not change durandal's first appearance, she is with her back faced to us looking at her Teachers grave. The only updated version of that scene, redisigned one, is in her dea anchora trailer but if you screenshot the one in game you see her first design was a dead give away she was the real Kiana because her whole design was a mirror to Cecilia. She had black frabric with yellow detais like cacilia and her hair was much straighter.
I don't know why but when i saw the unofficial 5.5 tierlist i kinda shed a tear when I saw Nyx on S tier alongside HoS:')

at 2:52 actually that is just different timeline of the same leaf not a different leaf,so it can't tell if she really a unique individual or not
I would suggest to use Bianka from Kongming event instead if I want to proof that she is a unique individual
When her 3rd battle suit came out i just thought that she kinda looked like her mom. (I cant spell her name properly) I remember telling someone that and they just dismissed it Lmao.
They both also have a lot of similar dialogues in game hahahaha..... I listen to their bridge dialogues in chinese, the way they talk about being the strongest Valkyrie give similar vibes..... similar tone toooo but one matured one still immature at first I was like, why does that sound familiar XD but I didnt read the visual novel nor read the full manga cuz its overwhelmingly too much information + I didnt know the vn existed xd

For me…I suspected this ever since the one image of the real Kiana being locked up and when durandal was being mentioned as the strongest Valkyrie, I was very far-fetched in my connection between those two, but I’m glad it paid off thinking crazy like that, since now I know it’s true
I was reading something that had the words "Baka Kiana", then it hit me "Bianka" had all the letters for "Kiana" + 'B', for the longest time I've been theorizing how Durandal's some sort of a clone just like K423 and they'll end up having a sister dynamic, I was wrong about the clone part, but the sister dynamic is pretty close.

When I binged the main story chapters from 9 and onwards, my gut instinct already told me Durandal is the real Kiana
I've seen people theorizing she was the OG Kiana for years now. I know someone said it a few days after she was first revealed, their reasoning was the Abyss Flower. I was not entirely convinced but also not entirely unconvinced either. So the reveal wasn't too surprising to me, since someone technically already spoiled it for me. lol.

The first time she was tease in storymission my first empression on her is she gives a Cecilia vibe and she looks kinda like her specially the hair, and besides that she even wield the abyss flower from the beginning, but it didn't comes to my mind that she was actually real kiana instead i thought she might be related to the schariarc family

I had also noticed that Bianka was KianaB and I just started playing in November 2021. At Begin we discovered there is a kiana missing and I thought Bianka very sus when I saw that she had no birthday date
Through the years i've felt a lot of times when they introduce Dudu, who she's talking to is saying something like, if Kiana was alive, she'd be the same age as Dudu... i think it was people who knew (rita,otto) leaking it slowly?? 🤔🤔

Honestly, the biggest indicator was when I first saw her using the AF in Arc City, especially after learning that only the Schariac family is capable of holding it. Was still skeptical about it even when I saw her hair style looking a little too uncanny with Cecilia, I just shrugged it off since I thought that Mihoyo is sending a red herring to the fans to hide a bigger plot twist.
Mihoyo been hinting like forever. I mean Everything that are consider to be Kaslana's Signature, Durandal has every aspect of that, personality, Appearance, shoulder big responsibility, all Suit have Knight-like appearance, all the dots was too obvious. Also both love cat NEKO CHARM!!!

Ah well, I must confess I didn't really get pulled into the lore more fully until recently, before 2020 I mostly just played 4 funz (Complete with trash line-ups, etc :-)
In retrospect it is pretty nicely hinted. TBH, this is why I really like Honkai, it's so much more than a gacha game has to be just to make money, and I like that.

i think the reason why durandal & kiana (k423) doesn’t look alike is because 1. otto’s cloning isn’t perfect & 2. k423 wasn’t just a duplicate of cecilia & siegfried’s child, she was also created with HoV’s core.
I would've liked it more if the characters talked about the real Kiana more before the reveal, and there should've been a couple of characters catching up and realizing all the similarities Dudu have with the Kaslana and Schariac lineage.

I always thought that it would be too cliche if the strongest valk will just end up being a side character or a puppet of the antagonist.
For someone who got into HI3 only earlier this year and played the open world first, to me Durandal being the real Kiana was a major plot twist to me. But hey, thankfully now we don't have to worry about "omg one day the real kiana will be upset about what she has lost as the clone replaced her" since both kiana and bianka are on good terms. To me, Kiana, the protagonist feels more sympathetic. Durandal atleast has memories of her birth parents now and knows that her parents love her, but kiana is the clone of the same daughter those 2 loved so much. The only memories she has is her "father" one day leaving her all of a sudden and as she progresses she gets to know more.
The biggest hint for me is the her knowing the Kaslana Gun Kata. When K423 fought her in Africa, Kiana got surprised on how Durandal knows their Gun Kata.
The one hint that made me think she was the real kiana was when she was called the strongest valk ngl
