  • Almost nothing to write home about, and I went out empty-handed. Still, had some nice time. Killed a bunch of nazis in Wolfenstein 3D as if it was early 1990s... Nostalgia intensifies.
There was a bunch of people selling mainly consoles and games (Famicon, NES, N64 and modern stuff), 8-bit computers (C64, Atari), old PCs, cathode ray tube TVs, software, books, magazines, vinyl records and cassettes, some books, toys (for the nice kids rather than naughty adults), figurines, other nerdy stuff. Calculators, some devices from way back when, but no real hi-fi or anything similar... nothing to give me a total nerdout.
Hoped to buy some fun tee or electronic stuff - came out empty-handed. Met a friend nerd (the same who I fixed the ZX Spectrum +2 for) and we talked a bit. I even tried buying standard 2HD 1.44 floppies for an upcoming Thinkpad 380ED restoration project - nowhere to be found... Now I feel pretty sad and disappointed since I really enjoyed the previous fair in October.

3:36 I see you spotted a Teleng Colourstars console at the fair, funny enough I just picked one of those up! They're not bad for their age, still quite fun to play :)

For those wondering what 15 Zloty for a vinyl LP is equivalent:
    $3.83
    3.52 Euro
Quite a bargain if in decent condition!

It would be more like $15 or 15 euro compared against income. Ah, the global inequalities... Bu yes, 15 PLN for a record is cheap as fuck here. They usually go for 4 to 10 times that, some go up to 300, on a rare occasion even more but that's a rare exception.

that was some old stuff. I am with: I did not see anything worth buying. How often to do they have fairs like that?

Is this in Poland near your home? These calculators, keyboards, printers, monitors youll find at garage sales and thrift stores all over America. Not even old Ataris are worth anything. Old Gameboys and 70s hand held games (football/baseball) are still valuable. CDs are worthless here. Vinal has some value depending on what it is.

Yes, it's like 15 kilometers away from me. With enough "retro hype" the prices will go up... We don't really have thrift stores like in the West, most of these is clothes only, and garage sales are not popular either. Estate sales even less so. Some people sell stuff online but they tend to be overpriced. CDs are still appreciated, even among audiophiles, and vinyl records vary in prices a lot depending on the artist/album, condition... and seller. It's mainly the collectors and audiophiles, so prices are rather high most of the time.

@@KeritechElectronics what about eBay and Facebook Marketplace? Vintage stereo systems and analog receivers, EQs, and stuff like that are highly sought after here.

@@Jaggerbush FBM is no very popular and mainly used for local sales here, pickup rather than delivery. eBay is almost exclusively used for international sales, and not really popular, it's just hard to afford getting stuff from there. Allegro used to be a Polish counterpart of eBay but it moved in the Amazon direction, i.e. not really an auction site anymore (like it was in the 2000s and early 2010s), it has become a platform for companies to sell their products.
