It is specifically shot on Kodak 7255 ECO 16mm color film stock, a special print film that WOODSTOCK (1970) was also all shot in and it made it possible for those films to be made at all. Color is solid and part fo the grain is because the film is very low in light sensitivity (only 25 ASA/ISO) so that is where the grain comes from. Fortunately, they had plenty of sunlight for the daytime shots.

Having had no expectations for the previous 4K, you've got me very intrigued about Second Sight's version now. Then again when it comes to a casual viewing, I'd rather revisit Vinegar Syndrome's TCM 2 release over this any day. I have to be in the right mood to watch this.

I believe the readily available MPI media version is the same as Turbine Germany's release from a couple years ago.

I feel the same way about loving/hating this film. Really do like the first half of the movie and the setup but man it gets hard at the end... just depraved and sadistic.

Sadistic is a good descriptor to use. I completely agree.
