Awesome! 09S option is harder than applying for OCS as an active duty enlisted soldier.

In my days (1956), all you need is a degree and to pass a test. I don't remember any physical test. OCS was mainly classroom study. Boot camp was harder because you had younger less educated trainees.

I was selected for Active Duty OCS. I had a 3.1 GPA, speak conversational Japanese, had a senator, Air Force OSI Retiree, and a professor right my letters of recommendation. My PT was a 260? I dont recall. But the point is, what makes you stand out? I tried for OCS 3 years ago and at that time, I had 1 year ofJapanese, and nothing special really. You gotta have something that makes your packet pop or a recruiter wont work with you! Of course a good balance of letters will do wonders. And as long as your PT is not garbage.

Thank you for this video, Sir! It is really hard to find someone who has actually gone through OCS recently and tell their experiences in so much detail!
I am glad to hear that 2019 boards are a lot “easier” than it was a few years ago..
I am trying to get my MOVSM at the moment, my PT score is around 280-290, I have pretty good LOR from my department officers from CPT to LTC - but my downfall is my GPA with a 2.6. I was just trying to get through college back in 2012.. but how devastating is this for my packet to be competitive?

Also, I am currently enlisted active duty as an E-5 and deployed.

This is why some people have to enlist first before becoming an officer if they can't put in a strong OCS packet.

How did you present your volunteer hours??? Did you just type it up on a word doc or did you have a formal letter from each organization you volunteered at write out the hours you did???

Got a 263 PT and a 3.79 GPA - hopefully that will be sufficient. I know its changing over to the ACFT and I've been training a lot for that. My board meeting is coming right up - I'm nervous but excited! What kind of questions did they ask you at your board meeting?

First thing you can do is have "volunteer hours..." Dang L-T! Don't sell yourself short. You got this because you are dynamic and an obvious leader. Strong PT Score? Check and double check! You have to "lead from the front" bro. Carry on sir. I'll be in the area if you need anything. Doc

I did pretty bad on my oar. I got a 45, but my recruiter said it's fine because my gpa is high. I'm a little worried though. I'm a dual applicant so if I dont get in I'm going in as enlisted, which actually motivates me more to get accepted to ocs

I majored in Int'l studies with an emphasis in Law and Int'l Organizations. Got a 3.56 and an A in all my law classes. I am extremely close with my professors. I did Model UN, was president of the Int'l Studies club, and have easily over 300 volunteering house(I taught abroad). My research at University focused on OSINT. The only thing I cannot find information on is vision standards. I will go into a recruiter soon but I want to really know. I probably have 20/300 uncorrected vision but am 20/20 with glasses/contacts. Anyone know if you go for an Inteligence Analysit does the vision matter? All I could find was vision standards varied on certain jobs but couldn't understand the vision terms.

kinda confused on this package... Is this something you submit as an enlisted going for officer? or college student going as officer? or both? Do this package and boards determine if you get into OCS even after taken ASTB exam? Or graduating from OCS? My recruiter has never mentioned a package to me and I am just learning about this. Please feel free to comment back and help out!
