It all works he didn't describe in detail how to do this but it works. Once you connect your controller go into preferences on the sixaxis app and turn on the coller undder gamepad settings, you might need to mess with the mappings too. The controller worked perfectly for me my only problem was remote play would stop working when I got multiple messages. I would use an Old android to link it

Hey, I try to do it through my xperia z3, after connecting the ds3 to the z3,and connecting the z3 to the ps4, the doesn't respond to the conntroller :(

+Android Stuff in sony xperia z3 there is no need to root your device for connecting the conntroller to the android device, and also for connecting it to the ps4, its work perfectly with the ds4 conntroller but not with the ds3 conntroller.
That helped me alot u just earned a subscriber and u earned my respect :)

Hey, thanks for the video. I successfully connected the PS3 controller to my Sony Xperia Z3, I can use the controller in apps/homescreen etc, but it becomes unresponsive after I actually connect to the PS4. I've selected "Enable Gamepad" in gamepad settings, and I've edited the mappings to match the appropriate buttons, I don't know what else to try. Can you suggest anything? Thanks. :)
Don't worry, it was because I wasn't using the ported version of remote play. :) For anyone having this issue, just make sure you're using the ported version of remote play because it adds dualshock input support.

this USED to work, and no longer works since Sony has discontinued their Remote Play application. I downloaded the most recent one (5.2) but when I try connecting the app it stops at "you must update the app". Please,anyone with a new solution, please share

Did you try to change the Bluetooth address of the PS3 remote to that of the ps4 through PC? I know it's possible however idk if ps4 would recognise it.

When i activate remote play on the tablet, the ps3 controller works as the first cotroller, and my ps4 controller works only as a guest, if i choose my profile it cuts the conection. Is there a way to make both controllers by the same account ?
And oher thing, is there a way to add another controller on the same system doing this process ?
+Alex Carneiro the idea with the ps4 is 1 user is 1 controller. You cannot have 2 controllers for the same user. And only 1 remote play user is allowed at a time. That means you can use only 1 ps3 controller (and other ps4 controllers)

hi, i have my controller connected to the sixaxis app on my rooted nexus but whenever I try to connect the remote play app to the ps4 it connects for a second and then the app crashes saying "unfortunately, remote play has stopped" and then disconnects from the ps4... any suggestions?
+TheAyes21 this happens to me only on first run but then it works fine.. probably it has something to do with the home network connection. is your ps4 connected to the same router/network device as your nexus phone?

Guys if your ps3 controller is connected to ur phone by sixaxis and you try to remote play and it doesnt work THIS IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME: first off in sixaxis tap Chamge ime and select sixaxis controller, then go to settings, gamepad settings and make sure the 'Gamepad' setting is enabled/checked. and thats it. enjooyyyy

S K M I believe so. I have an iPhone XR and the apps seem to work fine, except I don’t have a DualShock 3 controller yet to test it. But I do have a kindle fire android tablet just in case it doesn’t work. Let me know if you get results on wether or not it works.

in this video i'm using a galaxy tab 2 which is less powerful than the galaxy s3. anyway, it's actually a matter of router quality and local connection speed.

Obito Uchiha No it's not that, look at the description, you have to download SixAxis controller app and remote play app , technically it's not connecting to the ps4 but it's connecting to the phone/tablet and the ps4 is streamed on tablet.

official remote play app wasnt available for my device running android 4.2. so now im trying the port by xda developers. hopefully it works.
+Shane Melly the official remote play app works only on sony xperia devices. the xda port is a modified version which runs on all Android devices.

Shane Melly i've heard other people saying that as well but for me it works without any lag (as seen in the video).. is your ps4 using the ethernet connection (cable)? is the android device connected to the same router as the PS4? the idea is to make sure there is no other wi-fi traffic on your router to keep the lag as minimum as possible..

It doesn't work. The remote play isn't compatible with rooted devices anymore.
+Puma Puma that's not true. i've just tested it 1 minute ago and it still works fine. you'll have to use remote play app from xda forums (the official app works only on sony xperia devices)

the title says exactly what's in the video : how to connect the dualshock 3 controller to playstation 4. almost all details are in the video (and there are also notes which link to other explanatory videos). in case something is not clear, just ask nicely and i will do my best to help you. there is no way to pair a dualshock 3 controller directly to playstation 4. that's one solution i discovered by myself and decided to share it with everyone. if that's not what you wanted, feel free to study and discover a better solution.
and as a side note : this video has 1400+ likes at this moment and there are a lot of people who thanked me for making the video. why would i take your opinion into consideration?

+Logan Wilmot the root is only for the Dualshock 3 wireless pairing.. but afaik, xperia phones already allow wireless connection with ps3 controllers (but you will still need a otg cable to do the pairing)
