Brilliant comparison video. I've been using the 8 for years and the other guy in my band got the 9 and it was a clear upgrade, this video confirms it. The 8 shows slight fizz and less depth. The 9 wins hands down. Not much more 💲 for way more 🎶

I have the 845 for 16 years now and it's still my favorite , although i added sm57, sm58 and at2050 .

Sennheiser E845 has a little less clarity and sounds muddier or a little warmer because it has less high end frequencies. but it's still a great mic. E945 is much better though.

The 845 sounds more like an sm 58. This demonstration “clearly” shows why I love the 945. What it doesn’t show is how a power singer can back away and still have good tones to cut through live shows.
Good comparison in my books
845 have more high frequency than sm58
E945 sounds much better on your beautiful voice! Nice video! ;)
I have 845 just to try tweak it in eq adjust a little bit high... And it's ok :) clear as 945 :)

e945 for me, her voice sounded fuller. The e845 sounded thin, like hi pass filter is engaged above 150khz.
Great mic , our singer uses the 945 and our only isuue is she jas to have it right tight to her lips or you just cant hear it ! Even a few inches away the pa volume drops more than half !
What does that mean when they say a mic has a more warm sound ? I like bassy mics ? Which of the two is more bassy and also which of two mics can work best close and away from the mic ?

I'm hearing some weird resonance in the 845 like it's picking up some of the room more. More bottom end also.
I ned a mic for flute , hamonica and singing. NOTHING fancy . I'm in between Shure beta a 58 and Sennheiser e945. Had a Shure sm 58 before ( got stolen) , it worked fine but would like to try something a little better .Thanks in advance for any answer.

Exactly... I have both an e835 and an e945 and just bought an e845... for my surprise it sounds far worse than the e835 in my opinion. I'm very disappointed with its sound. I'll eventually return it and get another e835 instead. Btw, e835 and e945 sound very very similar. Price-wise I would go e835 all in!
I own both. 945 does sound clearer but it adds a lot of highs which this video doesn’t really seem to show so I really wonder how each of these mics are EQ’d. I had the 845 and it made my voice sound so much better than a Shure SM58. I sound so nasally on those. And I had the beta I believe it is called? Also. No good for me. First mic I used was a very old SM57 so I thought surely there must be a better mic to help me sound better but the 57 was best for me for Shure. Then I looked into Sennheiser and I was looking for super-cardioid and I was amazed how well the E845 made me sound. I am not a good singer but have always wanted to be able to sing with songs I wrote with my guitar. So I thought I would try the 945 but I have a love/hate relationship with it.
Supposed to be the superior mic for live sound that cuts through the mix. Well, I noticed immediately that it added highs which I am not a fan of. It does sound more clear so I keep trying to get the natural sound I get from the 845 but clearer sounding. I have not been able to achieve it so I keep going back and forth between the 845 and the 945. If you look at the documents between the 845 and the 945 frequency response it shows it adds more highs. From 10-12k where as the 845 no punch there. 845 gets a punch between 4-5k mostly and upper region slightly elevated across the board. 945 has drop off low starting 150hz and punch from 3-6khz and 10-12khz. Well anyway, I haven’t dialed it in exactly how I want. I don’t think I should have to mess with the EQ much if it is a good mic.
The MAJOR drawback is FEEDBACK!!!! It is horrible. It is probably for a few different reasons, EQ being one of them. Polar pattern, sensitivity, etc. I find that as a huge drawback for a live sound mic in a loud band environment unless you are using an in-ear monitor.
So in conclusion, it all depends on your application. I like super-cardioid mics and hate feedback. I can’t recommend the E945 for loud live bands unless you are using an in-ear monitor.
I like more warm sound that's i love my e845
In CZcams is good have a clear sound, but in stage we have some problems with highs, feedbacks
But all of them both are great mics

Hi there. I want to buy one of these mics, but just for fun/karaoke in home. I have no idea with what and how they connect. So my question is, can the mic connect directly to simple speakers of my PC? Or I must buy new stuff( XLR, special speakers etc)?
@@nora7372 a small mixer, an XLR cable for the mic plus a dual-cable to Connect the mixer to your pa/hi-fi.
If you are using a computer, make sure to buy a USB-mixer. That Way, you Can Connect it to the computer via USB instead of buying a dual-cable
Sir, I want to do voice over. But I am very confused. Is the E 945 mic for recording or for live cast? Can I do recording with this mic? And can I mix it later? Will this mic be good for voice over?
One of the best of the marker in the price range.
e845 sounds more natural to me. PS: She took the e845-s out of the front direction of the mouth at various times, this messed up the test.

I have e935 it’s better than e945
you can not compare these two, the capsules are made different. the cardioid 935 may deliver more proximity-effect what some singers would love more. The 945 delivers little more high end freqs. and is even less sensible for feedback. Sennheiser let you choose, they are both great, professional mics.
