Idk about this, I know a bit of physics, and according to my calculations, there was no pressure on the phones, at least no significantly high pressure. Since there was nothing blocking the foam from expanding up, it just kept expanding up and thus no pressure was applied to the phones. A fair test would be to fill the entire box with foam and close it from the top to prevent it from expanding freely. Then it would start applying pressure to the phones.
Ofcourse the fold is dead if you put it in liquid, break the camera and slice trough the plastic screen while trying to free the phone.

The screen partially melted in the heat and pressure, that is why it was so distorted lol
The one sliced was iphone and it survived. Also the hinges in the fold was not completely sealed so the foam went within the hinges and hardened. Inside. Causing all the crackling when he tries to bend it back and thus breaking it
