Nice video. For those who don't have one of these, the sound you hear is the pickups...not the amp. I have the S2 Custom 24 with the same pickups and this is why it became my #1 guitar. The pickups don't have the traditional humbucker bark that a Les Paul has....they hit a little softer on the low E. My next PRS is a McCarty.

God bless you Jon! What a beautiful demo ... masterfully played as usual, and with such a joyful, relaxing, and healing tone - so needed in our present world. Very nice guitar! The pickups really shine both sonicly and visually lol. The price looks to be in line with what you get. This guitar has definitely got my attention, and will sit in my virtual guitar inventory lol. Expecting my new Shijie strat in a few days, so that will have to hold me for awhile :D
@@JonIsJustTooLoud You mention the neck feel. Would it be comfortable for a 3 hour gig? Even though I have smaller hands, I prefer a bit of thickness. Thin necks tire my wrists and playing fat necks (i.e. soft V) is fine but not for 3 hours. So I prefer something in between. I really don't mind having different sized necks. I don't know if a local dealer has this model for me to try. They usually don't. Thanks!
I guess the world works in semi mysterious ways. I just got a PRS Fredrick Akersson model which is similar in many ways an SE. I got it used. Single cut but with wraparound adjustable bridge and it has an ebony fingerboard. Has PRS wide neck and the fretboard radius I am sure is higher feels like a 14 or so can't fine the specs now. Also has an Ebony fingerboard and abalone birds so the contrast is lower on it . Anyways i really lik eit I swore off buying guitars for a while but this was at the local store for the right proce after trying it out I had to have it.

Yes Ragnakak is correct.. the S means imported probably from SKorea. The 245 pickups sound very different from the 58/15 S which are coil split-able ✌️❤️

Hello Jon, do you know that song by Crosby,Stills,Nash&Young ... Almost cut my hair ... 😉 About that guitar, I can't say why I do not bond with them !? There are beautiful, well build , sounds good, but ... I used to have a beautiful PRS Santana that I sold: no feeling, not my tones. I'm definitely a Strat guy.
Lovely guitar and a great colour. But given how many great guitars we have available for a lot less coughing up €2.000 or more for one of these is not something I can see myself doing (perhaps because my most expensive guitar was around €700 and that's the only one I wouldn't buy again).
Yes they have the feel nailed imo but the tone is different, S2 pick ups just sound different to me, i know they are meant to replicate the core pick ups they still sound a lil different to me.
They are made in Maryland where they also make the Core models. Therefore they have a very similar feel to the Cores but there are some minor differences - like the way the top is carved is different and so feels a bit different. They keep the cost down by using 'import' hardware so that has a very minor 'impact' to the overall experience too but considering they are half the price, you are getting very close...

since they are using the same S pickups as the SE line, how different does it sound as compared to the SE equivalent?
There is no SE equivalent, the closest is the SE 245 and it's using different pickups
