PMA Passing Out Parade Highlights (14 April 2018)

- Kakul, 14 April 2018: Passing out parade of 137th PMA Long Course, 8th Mujahid Course and 56th Integrated Course held at Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul. 31 cadets from FATA, 67 cadets from Balochistan and 6 Allied cadets from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were also among passing out cadets.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) was the chief guest on the occasion. COAS reviewed the parade and gave awards to distinguished cadets. The coveted Sword of Honour was awarded to Academy Senior under Officer Syed Hasnain Ali of 137th Long Course. The President’s Gold Medal to Battalion Senior Under Officer Abdul Wahab Malik of 137th Long Course, the Overseas Gold Medal to Academy Under Officer Saud from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of 137th Long Course. - Hudba

I was waiting for the final moment just to check whether the Pakistani Army play the same tune (Auld Lang Syne) just like the Indian Army at the final parade. It did! Brilliant performance by those young officers. Congratulations to you all. I hope you become true leaders with all essential qualities of army officers eg Professional Knowledge & Competency, Moral and physical courage , discipline , Loyalty to your subordinate.

I took part in the Indian Military Academy passing out parade in 1969. Amazing how the ceremonial aspects are very similar. Good luck guys!

Spectacular Parade, perfect!!! Remove few hoardings and one won't know whether one is attending POP in India or Pakistan!! Amazed to see similarities between POPs of PMA and NDA/IMA of India even after so many years of partition or should I say separation!! Few things never change! Same parade markers...Flag bearers(we call them Nishan Tolli)... Adjutant on Horse back... Awards distribution...motivational address by the reviewing officer...slow/ fast marches!! Legacies of Britishers I suppose!! Congratulations to the Gentlemen Cadets!!(Few won't know what hit them when they reach their Units!!!)
we can surely see some differences in the marching style.. well the pma and NDA/IMA can never be compared ...... but there are some similarities ... and i liked this whole thing........ Hoping these men wont conduct any such things which would down the moral of the forces ....
