Chuck, Blair and the NJBC scheming in Gossip Girl 5x22 Part 1

- As you may have noticed, I've been uploading Chuck and Blair scheming scenes for Limoversary this year. Although some of these scenes from Gossip Girl 5x22 "Raiders of the Lost Art" are more Non-Judging Breakfast Club centric than simply Chuck and Blair 'centric they're so much fun I felt compelled to include them anyway. I swear when this episode aired it felt like Gossip Girl was back after a weird Season 5 alternative universe pit stop. lol
Blair is finally back to her real self (As she tells Dan in the phone call I cut out "Scheming is classic Blair and I'm getting my groove back, just like I wanted" Thank goodness. She's innately a General that needs to lead an army to victory. Opining over art at salons is fun but it can never replace building an empire and "coming home with a victory under her belt" (Gossip Girl 4x08).
I love how Chuck looks at her when she descends the stair case. She still takes his breath away! :) That's one of my favorite things about this ship: Just how much Chuck admires Blair and her intelligence. He doesn't need to the ego boost of being smarter than his mate. He is proud of her.
Poor Nate is the butt of so many jokes this whole series of scenes from Blair referencing his "weed addled brain" and "it hangs by the flimsiest of threads, Nate's long term memory" to his own girlfriend Lola making fun of his schedule "gym, gym, bangs trimmed." How did this happen to him? lol
Another nice thing about these scenes is Serena deciding she cared more about helping Chuck find his father than taking down Gossip Girl. I love when the NJBC comes together to help one another out.

@@mia-ul1us I feel like Chuck was just pretending with Eva though. He wanted to be someone she could love, but I think just to fill a void in his heart. The minute she leaves, he goes right back to Blair. Even if it was contentious at first, he did it to be near her. At least with Raina they had a connection built on truth- their mogul dad’s & hotel hiding places lmao. But they were way too alike to last. Both cold blooded in business & a “no strings attached” mentality. Also he had too many family issues. Raina was loyal to a fault with her father and couldn’t understand Chuck turning his back on Lily to save Bass Enterprises. She leaves him without blinking and eye and immediately moves onto Nate.

Good point. Chuck was clearly desperate for a family. I always felt like that’s why he hated Dan so much. He had loving parents and a sister, and writing talent. Chuck always felt like a failure and that’s why he wanted to please his father so much in business. It’s sweet he became such a good dad with his own son.
