Almost bought a F3 last year, but chose the FA, because of the matrix metering which the F3 doesn't have and I like the design of the FA more than the F3.

Bought my F3 in 1984 and it's a toss up between that and my F6.

I have a nice copy of an F3 with no film door lock lever, which makes the camera an expensive brick! Just another reason why the brand is way over-rated imho.

That’s a broken part which can be replaced/repaired, not a design issue. The lock lever is also quite hard to accidentally break, so sounds like more a hard knock than an issue with the camera itself to me

I'll take the Canon New F-1. Imo, it's an great underrated camera that's not overhyped like the F3.

@@lilakfir8060 The camera is in immaculate condition so I don't suspect a knock. I believe someone unfamiliar with the mechanism tried to push the lever vertically instead of laterally. It almost seems logical because the wind knob pops up. I also have an EM that when I first lifted the rewind knob it shattered. I was gentle but hence my feeling towards the brand can only get better!
