CUTECH, this is to you...... You must offer an upgraded heavier duty bracket with the new cast iron fence option. It is not acceptable to expect the lighter existing bracket to hold the weight of the heavy cast iron fence. You have shamefully failed in this area and must make it right. Please offer a heavy-duty bracket with the cast iron fence.......
I'm going to agree. Just got mine in, and the fence itself is beautiful, but it's wayyy too heavy for that weak bracket, which is the number one failure point of the old fence. As it stands, in going to have to fab up something myself.
Thank you for the input. Cutech is addressing this issue with the next generation of the Fence Enhancement Brackets. Currently all Cutech cast iron jointers do come with the first generation Fence Enhancement Brackets to install on both sides of the machine to help ease the burden of the main, center brackets. These brackets also reduce flexing. In addition, we will be introducing longer Fence Enhancement Brackets that are designed for the taller 6" cast iron fence. These new longer fence brackets will be included in the next production of the cast iron fence. Moreover, we will offer the new brackets free of charge to customers who already own the cast iron fence.
Hi Javier, Thanks for your interest in our cast iron fence. Installing the cast iron fence is easy, but you will need to drill holes in the rear panel to install the enhancement brackets. The 8" jointer you have might be the same as our 8” aluminum table jointer. Unlike our cast iron jointers, it does not have a strengthened structure, and the body is lightweight, so we cannot guarantee the stability of the heavy cast iron fence on this jointer.
I agree, the worst part of the fence on this and all benchtop jointers is the bracket.

Will this work with the rikon 8" jointer? Looks like a clone
