My fishing buddy Mike and I venture out into the Detroit River and river channel in Lake St. Clair in search of some Summertime smallmouth bass on our kayaks!
Kayak fishing is a lot of fun BUT you have to take every extra precaution when fishing fast current and deep water like the Detroit River channel.
NEVER kayak fish the Detroit River alone and ALWAYS wear your PFD.

People that hate on LS are truly missing out on some of the coolest things they never knew happened on the water. I learn SO MUCH about the lake or area I am fishing with LS even if I’m not catching. The thing is I don’t get a ton of time to fish so having LS adds to my experience. Sure it’s expensive but I’m still way under cost of a rigged out boat 🚤. I’m going to try and shoot a video of my screen here soon to try and share what it is I’m exactly looking at and talking about. Thanks a lot for stopping and watching bro!🤘🏻

Won’t be long and they’ll be eating the big shad. The pros been ripping them on cranks this week too. It’s the time of year when they are eating anything and everything I feel.

@@FishinWithGramps let’s do it man. It’s a large body of water BUT I have it narrowed down seasonally and follow their patterns. We don’t have to travel too far and depending on the wind their is various locations to launch and fish. I will say one thing. I stay off the lakes on the weekends. Once 11am hits on Saturday and Sunday all the locals and their yachts make it basically un fishable

Im not familiar with kayak tourneys. When you said "going for 120" does that mean with 5 fish? That would mean 5 at 24" each. That would be insane. Even my best bag at 27 lbs wouldn't have come close to that, and that included a 6+ & two 5+ pounders.

@@TheOutdoorConquest 😄 Ok gotcha, that went way over my head. I fish the river a lot near Erie so when people are down that way I can usually tell where they are, but I couldn't figure out where you guys were (& I don't expect you to tell me). I assume maybe you were further up near LSC, maybe the Peche Belle Isle area.
