Steve, you’re the outstanding member of the YCR team.😉👍
Thank you Emmanuel we do appreciate the compliment :)
As an engineer I can really appreciate the time, effort and skill that goes into your repairs. I honestly wish I had a tenth of the ability you got. Hats off!!
thank you , with a little practice its possible to do these same repairs at home :)
@@yorkshirecarrestoration It is now you have shown us😂
Nice one Steve - one of the handiest things I ever bought is a small 5kg Sealey anvil - I keep it on the floor right beside where I'm working so I can tweak stuff without having to get up, go walk to the bigger anvil on the bench. walk back, rinse repeat - I can just work fast on the little anvil right at my side. Wherever I'm working on a vehicle, that little anvil is sat close with my fave hammer - a crappo little tacking hammer - sitting at it too.
Of all the plethora of hammers in the workshop, that small tacking hammer does 90% of the hammering. Because it has such a small diameter head, it hits real hard if you need it to - and has the "chisel" shaped hitting face on the other side - which is always ideal for kipping in corners & the like.
Bringing all this beautiful stuff back from the dead... smashing 😊😊😊!
After learning how to do body work via fiberglass mat and polyester resin repair, this metal welding repair is so much better and stronger in my opinion. I've done some of this type repairs now and that is my type repairs from now on. Thumbs up!
Precision and patience, qualities that you combine with virtuosity. I admire your desire to bring these vehicles back to life, which have been badly damaged by time and the lack of love for beautiful cars. Thank you for giving us this beautiful craft show.
What’s amazing about your work is you can make your repair look invisible, not many go to that extend making a repair spotless, your patience really is on another level…. 💪🏻
Great work, I could watch you all day 👍👍
Or, for we insomniacs, half the night. It’s dead peaceful, watching Steve’s art, when the world is a whirling mess, and yet at YCR, they specialise in bringing calm and order.
love watching these rus-torations.. i used to have a car repair shop.
Hi Steve thanks for yet another superb fabrication, it's these smaller repairs that make the difference in the quality of a great restoration...😀😀😀😀..
Accordion looking ducts on the wings for crash absorption? That e24 deserves to be saved. Great job as usual 👏👏👏👍
true artistry! If you could only come to Iowa and perform this magic on my 944😄
Look at the hand tool work. Brilliant. This is such attention to detail. Wish I ship over my my beautiful brown but should be blue 89 Range Rover. I would like to see the body work you fellows would give it. I'll have to find similar craftpeople in Australia. They are here. Love watching this.
thank you Phil we appreciate the kind words :)
Práce auto klempíře je fascinující.Ta vaše práce je na vysoké úrovni.Zdraví ČR!
loved the faulty stand of your cam😄
Absolutely love watching all your work on CZcams
you and Tally ho are probably the two best videos to watch really good top quality content
Pure artistry.
Love your work , i did alot off patch repair when i bought a job lot off minis a few years ago . Even though it may be a small repair it can take up many hours as you must know. Whats your favourite song i guess
Clarence Carter " Patches " lol😂
Morning Steve. Some nice whole filling on the Beamer 😊 sorry to say it but the Datsun disaster is the star 🌟 of the show at the mo lol
😆 But seriously everything I’ve watched so far is absolutely amazing 🤩 Keep the good work up 👍🏻
Thank you Steve. Yes the datsun dose seem to get a lot of attention :)
your videos now have a nice overall sound level between the intro sound and the video, and i like the special effects ;-)
This car looks a lot better than M. A. his e24. Great work
What great work! Always impressed with the effort you guys put in!
Thank you again Mark :)
I know I've said it before, but you really deserve to get a bigger more robust vice. The Record No.3 is a very good tool but shows its limitations when you are shaping the panel over the strip. Another very informative video. Thank you.
Your usual very high standard metal work Steve!
Great video 👍 I remember the bosses 6 BMW coupe driver's seat became detached from the floor so a bit of metal and welding back on the road😅
Great video and looking forward to seeing this one completed. Did you forget about the threaded insert for mounting the wing?
Thank you :) No this can be addedater when aligning the wing up :)
"Easy"? lol ... I'd be happy if I did a job half as good. I also have a red E24 and this is amazingly mesmerizing. Thank you
when you ripped the jacking point off it sent me back 20 years to when i jacked my Rover 216 up and it went straight through the floor. Was totally rotted out, turned into a Flintstones car. Underseal was hiding it all away. Since that car every car i've owned has been cursed with rust
More nice fabrication there, Steve! That paint and underseal hides a multitude of sins.
I need these great work done on my E24!
Steve, that’s pure art
Awesome fabrication 👍
Just pure delight watching you fix the rust you guys are the best in the business thank you so much for the upload im going to watch the Last one I missed
Love watching your metal work
Use a protective sheild, when you are using the wire wheel brush. Piece of the wire can get loose and fly in to your face. Sugestion.
Made me hungry listening to the Chinese restaurant music!
Again great video guys .I love them al
этот мастер лучше, чем тот другой, молодой, колготной...
Have The same fun work on our 635
Better than new!
See e type in the background nice
Great skill, great work, nuff said 👍👍👍 Thanks for sharing 👍
Nice video, but I want to thank you for the great choice of music for the videos. It gives your streams an almost meditative quality when you watch them. I already downloaded a few links. I'm looking forward to news from the disaster (cough rust) Dutsun.😊
as usual very inspiring
My uncle Milton had a shop in Carlisle doing this sort of work, he always contended that the ability to weld body filler to rust was an essential skill.
Amazing work steve👍👍👍
Another great video as always Steve outstanding workmanship and quality video even with the special effects 😂 love the channel and what you guys do ♥️
17:20 Nice welding helmet hat! 🤣🤣
BMW legend
Very nice! I've experienced that camera stand effect but that was down to booze.... true story. It doesn't look too bad overall, not compared to a certain Japanese motor we can think of.......
Just wondering if we can use the copper backing plate behind the hole and welding the hole to cover. Instead of cut small square around the hole and put new small square plate on it.
yes it can be done but if you can get a metal filler in there i would :)
Ótimo trabalho! Carros como um Golf MK4, são mais resistentes à corrosão? Por aí um MK4, se ainda rodar, deve valer $50. Abraço
Круто!
thank you :)
👍👍👍
👍
Your videos aren't long enough....should be about 2 hours each....lol You know you're doing good when people can't get enough...
What tin snips you using
😊❤👏👏👏
How many mm is the steal plate used?
Let me share my opinion, I am restoring my BMW E30, I know how important it is to protect the metal after the welding work, otherwise the result of the repair will be deplorable in the near future. All I see from you is how great you manage to make new body elements and install them, but what I don't see is that in most cases you don't bother to protect the new parts you make and install. Why? After all, the result of such an approach will quickly nullify all the work done. This approach cannot be called a restoration, but rather a hastily completed repair.
Thank you for your opinion. Maybe save it for when it's finished and then comment :)
Locally, here in the states, no one will do this work….everything is insurance collision claims$$$$!
Luckily not here :)
I spy an M-power valve cover... Hmmmm....
Videos are interesting, but please get rid of the music. Would rather hear the tools and equipment and just silence.
turn the volume down, problem solved :)
Great work Steve love watching you’re videos, great expertise
👍
