Remembrance Day 2023

In tribute, each year on Remembrance Day we read the names of the members of the Mount Allison community who gave their lives to ensure our freedom. We honour their service, their sacrifice, and their lives. University Archivist David Mawhinney also shares the story of Major Walter Peters from the Class of 1959 in the lead up to the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).
Led by Multi-faith Chaplain and Spiritual Care Coordinator Rev. Ellie Hummel, the names are read by Director of Alumni Engagement Carolle de Ste-Croix (’90), Professor emeritus Alex Fancy (’61), and University Archivist David Mawhinney. The Last Post is by Music lecturer Matthew Ross from the in-person ceremony in 2021. With support from the University's Libraries and Archives.
