- Brake bleeder tool, vacuum pump and pressure tester, the MityVac 8500 is a well known, well tested tool, but a new tool for me.
In this video I give an overview and unboxing of this vacuum pump. - Zábava
Nice solid looking tool. I remember the old style brake reservoir. Thanks for sharing.
Thought somebody would...
pressure testing ability....I'm sold
I work on large diesel powered generators. Many of them are on rooftops, while the fuel tanks are in the basements. If there isn't a ball valve, or the check valve is cocked over, or just nonexistent, you will lose your prime as soon as you spin the filter loose.. Good luck trying to pull a prime from the roof with just cranking it..
I'll pull the supply line off the back of the injection pump, and I use that brake bleeder attachment on there to pull the prime through. Works like it was made for it. It's fast too..
I got the sme kit when it was rebranded andsold as the "Craftsman Professional" #14005 Brake Bleeder & Automotive Test Kit, and it works great!
Great video man I just bought me the ABS plastic style mighty vac... As I only do routine brake maintenance on my vehicles but for someone like you that does this on a consistent basis that kit you got there is pretty nifty
Good review I bought one and it kept blowing thank you for the review now I know why
Great tool. I will have to order one. Thanks for sharing Clyde. Look forward to more vids. -John
Cheers Bud!
looks well made and not as expensive as i thought it would be
Real cheap actually. 100 canadian pesos
Awesome tool! Nice purchase.
Cheers Bud!
I'm sure it'll hold up to the test.
I didn't know it could add pressure, very cool!
Great info, Thank you
Thanks for reviewing this tool! I've been on the fence about buying this one versus the Snap-On one, that my coworker swears by and tells me not to bother with anything else.
Real nice. I could use one for testing delicate parts for leaks.
Good so far.
I'll do a real review after some time with it
Brother, I have had my mightyvac system for well over 30 years now. Never once have I had any problems except on the positive pressure instead of the negative (vacuum) pressure.
boy you do like feeling your tool over
Great video
I bought a Blue Point one a few years ago and found out it was a re-branded MityVac unit. Main part brought awhile back and I'm going to replace it with a MityVac one
Mityvac, cool!! Can you use it to clean those hard to reach places in the floor mats??
Damnit Jim,
I'm a Mechanic not a Detailer.
sure, go for it.
I bought the mighty vac kit 3 years ago. It looks and feels solid, but after a few months of owing it the valve that adjusts from vac to pressure snapped off. Yes it's a plastic valve. least mine is.
I gotta say it, "right turn Clyde" Hahah sorry mate, great video.
No shit I was wondering what the black adapters were for. Damn that's a smart idea for the fluid bottle.
I have the Blue Point YA4000A , it's not built as good as that model. Great addition to any diyer .
I like it so far.
Just purchased one, thats how I end up here.
Hey buddy... Does this tool perform the same tests as what a gunson g4103 lo gauge vacuum tester does?
They have the same vacuum and pressure ratings. Is the gunson one just more colourful and simple to visualize certain tests?
I bought the pos mityvac
Does not go beyond 24hg
Max is 30 I think
I have 1 use it every day the onely problem is the release on the bottom of the unit if you put it down on the beach you can hit the presher release thay should have put it on the top
I just bought one
good review buddy! No more askin the wife to pump the brakes haha
LOL!
Glad for that...
It's been a year. How has this been holding up? Would you recommend this for a driveway mechanic that works on a few cars a year?
Almost two years now hows it holding up lol
4 years, I wonder if it is still holding up? Lol
@@tradesman63 I still have and use it. A part of the handle broke a little bit, but it's still usable. I don't use it often, though.
No
How is work?
Ive bought a few of the chinese ones from princess auto. They work okay, but the seals wear out on them. i usually end up missplacing it before it completely fails on me. haha
Well, if you loose'em often, then quality and warranty isn't an issue....
yeah i lend tools out a lot and forget about it then dont get it back. i live up to my last name. For some reason i dont think my vacuum pump has never made it into my tool box at work. At the dealership we dont have a lot of work that requires use of a vacuum pump. Its really made me a lazy tech, and it takes me a few seconds of thinking to come up with solutions for problems that i used to be able to be so snappy with. I dont recommend dealer work to anyone who really enjoys problem solving.
yup yup
I heard a lot of AvE in this guys speaking
This kit comes with a bewildering assortment of adapters, not ONE of which actually fits a brake bleeder nipple tight enough to keep air from entering the system. You'll have to cobble something together yourself.
you have to be careful of the pin in the back I am a stihl mechanic so I use it everyday
It’s made out of Zinc.
old stuff..... how bout a 2000 k2500 chevy. 👍👍
Heck,
I'll work it in if I can. Gottta get my hands on one.....LOL
Please properly demontration
nice piece....can i borrow it?. £0£.
First time's free Bud.
Well this tool work on Asian cars and trucks let me know thanks
Yes
@@ClydeDoSomething thanks bro
Steel or magnesium? Lol. Hey maybe titanium or carbon fiber.
Right turn Clyde
But the video sucks
As if there is a vac leak
And the operator cannot figure out
What to do with the new clyde
Really trying to get to the 10 Minute mark rambling and not getting to the point
This tool sucks and blows?? How is that scientifically possible?
Nick G he flipped the lever on the side which changes the direction of the pressure
They studied many a call girl to get this tool right.
