- The Romanesque church in Paderno (Italy) was completely rebuilt from 1736 onwards, changing to a Baroque style and then to a very rich Neoclassical style. This church is on the border between two towns in the province of Lecco; the church is in one municipality, while the tower is within the border of another municipality. The bell tower was equipped in 1861 with an important new concert of five bells, which replaced the previous ones. The five bells are in B major and were cast to complete the restoration of the church.

For the Easter feast we rang the bells according to the ancient tradition, despite the terrible storm with incessant wind and rain. The ringing of bells on feast days consists of striking a wooden keyboard, similar to a piano, where the combination of keys composes melodies as on a piano. At the end is the bell concert, where the bells are played in motion until they reach the mouth up.
The earliest records of the church date back to 1018, when the presence of the church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, built at the end of the 10th century on the border between two medieval villages, is already mentioned. The new small church built next to the church was annexed to the parish, which then became neoclassical in the second half of the 18th century in its present form. In 1856, the two side chapels were built, designed by the famous Milanese architect Moraglia. The church with its Greek-cross plan contains some important works of art, such as the body of the martyr saint Maximus and the antependium of the high altar, an exceptional work of gold by the leading goldsmith who lived in the 19th century.

🍀 the rainiest day of the year, it stopped raining only when we finished on the last bell tower; once we finished on the last bell tower the water reached the bottom where we played protected by the roof hahaha
