I remember when Vadact still did war thunder stuff, in the Gulf War event he did it I critted a moving enemy from 8300m away with an M1A1 abrams. Over a year later it’s still my furthest hit ever
What map allows you to get those ranges?

@@Steel_Raiinmost maps now enclosed or shrinked in size for long range combat, max you can get around 2km
I am sad that Gaijin is making WT more arcade with every update, I would prefer long distance engagements like this on toptier

The problem is the loudest portion of the player base (whether they're the majority or not) gets mad every time Gaijin tries to increase engagement distances, because they hate when the game isn't a fast-paced TDM kind of game.

Whats the point of long range engagments? It would be utterly boring, and not satisfying considering WTs damage model and drawing distance issues that they cannot fix. If you want proper long range engagments choose another game
@@xWizardxRF The problem is there aren't really any other games unless you want to get into GHPC, and even then its very different. Although I don't find high tiers as fun at long ranges, it is SO fun whenever I get a long range kill in a ww2 tank beyond where I can rangefind and have to zero it in perfectly. I also just don't like how the game is set up currently because its far too predictable with the tiny maps
3:40 something I usually do when you cant see him through bushes, is spam the rangefinder until the crew spot the tank, then you shot and is 90% sure youre gonna hit, nice video too 👍

it’s also a good way to get yourself killed by enemies with a LWS
i wish 8.0+ games would be more focused on longer ranges, an urban cqc map is fine once in a while but it shouldnt be the only thing you see.
Even lower than 8.0 would kinda benefit from that, some maps are simply too small.
Larger maps would benefit everyone, spaa would have more places to go without worrying about enemy ground units, vehicles with any sort of speed advantage would actually be able to use said advantage, helicopters would need to fly closer to the battlefield to be the most effective, making them easier to shoot down and much more.
And before anyone says that larger maps would make the game much worse for autocannon vehicles think again, in a small map you're more likely to run into an enemy tank head-on which 90% of the time will end in your death, for example: my best games in the cv9030 were on larger maps, since i could safely flank around and hit enemy vehicles from the side.

Nice game play, love the long range kill shots especially without using any thermals. There's hardly any player and youtuber do such things lately. Most war thunder players these days only play in small maps even urban maps even though their tank guns are designed for long range shot.

This is why I love ground sim and want gaijin to give us ground sim ec so the matches don't end so quickly there are more objectives and the players are more dispersed across the bigger maps. Although I'm more into ww2 stuff long range is even more fun there imo, I remember having a 2200m fight with a churchill in my panzer iv until someone ruined it and killed him.

Nice mode, I hope they upgrade it, having the same maps and modes with just sim difficulty is not the right way to do this mode.
@@Hunter_i86 Yeah we need at least 10km by 10km maps that last longer imo, that doesn't mean there can't be close quarters parts of those maps though. Funnily enough I've already watched the video
