Because it is very very very expensive 🤧 to own a big house.
Different country , different price etcc. a decent luxry apartment penthouse in seoul Korea cost in the millions 2-10 million usd. The size is compare to my house in texas where it cost less than $200,000 usd. Seol korea has no land and is very expensive. A house this big will cost in the upper 10+ million over there and that is not consider a mansion yet. So a 4,000 square feet house in texas will cost from $300,000 - $500,000 but it will cost x4 the price in south korea city. Texas home are much much cheaper than California or new york . Different geographic location different price.

Well houses in Korea are expensive in general. Mostly only people with lots of money buy houses but some rich people do live in expensive apartments as well.

the house is awesome, but I get stressed in a big room, I can't imagine ever being comfortable sharing such an enormous house between only 2 people, I'd need at least 8-12 to fill the house.

@Katie Flinnn same... Sometimes having a big house is hussle too esp cleaning w/O maids like me I dnt want made too, but in order to stay clean both person had a tidy personality. As me I hate ppl who are lazy in things bcoz it keep dirty every angle of houses if they lazy esp if ur in one house ur so clean yet them is just so lazy to clean. Up their mess.. Arghhh hate those that.
@Katie Flinnn Yeah,. It would make sense to me if I had a huge family. We could divide the work up. I wouldn't want to hire someone either. Cleaning is a respectable profession but I don't want to have to hire someone, I want a home that is comfy and low maintenance.
Just know it would have cost them millions knowing how much homes with land cost in South Korea. But it's so beautiful and am super happy for them 😍

not really almost 50 percent of Korean live in Seoul that why the price of land is expensive in seoul but you can get an apartment much cheaper in other region ,and ab ppl living in apartment, the truth that korean prefer living in apartment than living in houses unlike most ppl thinking that having a house is the dream of their life, in SK living in modern luxury apartment look more apealing to them especly if in the rich area of seoul

@fati summer I knew someone who used to worked in sk and he said that mostly those people who can afford to buy a lot and build their home are people who are rich because a land is so damn expensive. Yes, you could say that apartments are expensive too but I think most of them prefer to live in apartments because it’s accessible in malls, their works etc. but it may be cheaper to buy land in suburban area compare in city, I watched somewhere that living in Seoul is so damn expensive compared to other places in sk.

My parents' house is 30min (outside the city) away from my city condo. It's over 10x bigger and has 2 acres of land but only cost about 3x more than my condo. Da Gam's house is definitely expensive (compared to the average person), but not necessarily outside of her own means.
If you have a landed house like this in South Korea means you're freaking rich and probably a big shot in the country like SNSD's Sooyoung. Her family owned a landed house too and it's her dad or grandad is a famous architect that build one of the most famous building in the country. (Forgot few infos 😅)
