What free one hour parking are they talking about? The structure is three dollars an hour now. I don't see any free parking on the street when you're downtown either.

Remember what Tortilla Town owner said Fuck the Locals "??? That's what's going down in history !!
I rarely go downtown. Only a couple places I'd go. Too expensive, I don't believe in paying to park Anywhere !! Those exclusive little dress shops were too expensive and the clothes too boring. Slo is really not a dress up fancy town like they think.
But it's good people are saving their money. Now we need to get those high housing rents GONE !!!

The City has made it extremely difficult for locals to shop downtown. SLO City is in the pocket of big business and not local businesses.

If you can't afford $3.00 to park,I doubt that losing the amount of money you have to shop for whatever it could be that you are shopping for will make a difference to these store owners anyway. Stay home.

Veteran business owners understand pricing and customer demands far better than most in the community. You deserve to earn a fair market wage for your labor, and so do these local businesses and their employees. Contrary to widespread belief, most small businesses trying to compete with the big box stores and online retailers run on tight margins.

I imagine you wish to earn fair compensation for your years of professional expertise and effort. And that's valid. Why should we expect anything different from veteran business owners who might have put a decade or more of effort and experience into their brands and businesses?
