  • Feeding station / floating plants trap DIY
    This is my take on fish feeding stations. It also doubles as floating plants trap.
    Floating plants get rid of ammonium and nitrate. Basically lots of bad stuff in the water are sucked up by the plants. Floating plants are easy to keep because the leaves are out of the water and can get all the co2 they need.

    Very cool. I'll have to make a few of these for my tanks. I've been wanting to put duckweed in a tank, but I heard it's like the herpes of fish tanks. You just cant get rid of it once it's in there. This could help create an area for the fish to eat or surface for o2(betta). Very cool super glue. I've never seen a kind with a brush before.

    • @EvaLovasco
      @EvaLovasco Před 6 lety

      I'm just learning about duckweed, but I get the impression it's also a problem for your plants, as they can gas exchange and get the light they need. Maybe put the duckweed in the holder and feed on the outside?

      Defintely spreads across these tubes eventually, and based on the no CO2 no FILTER videos, youll have excess to throw out. But having a flowing water surface is supposed to limit the spread also

    Hey man, what sort of acrylic tube do you use? I've tried this with air tube, CO2 tube, but it always folds in on itself, even after trying to heat it. The one you use, seems very stiff, it almost sounds like really hard plastic?

      It stops floating food from being distributed all over the tank's surface. The fish soon get used to coming to the feeder at mealtimes!

      Hmm, not sure where this is coming from, but I do reply to questions. I used to reply every day when I didn't have many subs, but now, sometimes I get hundreds of questions a day or more when a video does well, and some of them require more than one liner for an answer. This takes a lot of time. sometimes hours. It's hours I don't have these days just sitting in front of my computer everyday answering questions. Hope you understand.
