How to replace headlight assembly 2013 Infiniti JX35

New bulb did not work on my daughter's JX35, so I decided to replace the ballast (not paying dealer the $2200 I was quoted, and I was told this was a "sealed system" so you can't replace the ballast, which is untrue!). By partially disconnecting the grill and the side fender panel as show in this video, I was able to look up through the wheel well and get to the ballast and pretty easily remove the three screws to pull it out, without taking out the entire light assembly. But, of course, when I did that, water poured all out! So I ended up taking the entire light assemble out and sealing all seams the best I could with silicone. Light works fine now, hopefully the water will stay out.

Did you have to remove anything from the underside? You mentioned in the videobyou would come back to that, but you did not in the video

No I don't think anything under the car needed to be removed all up top.

@kevinsmobileautomotiverepair I just paid 2k for this. The part is like 1500 all because Infiniti does not sell replacement ballast. Did not go for a replacement ballast on ebay because my light had a leak and water would get in it which probably caused the ballast to fail

Thank you for the comments. His old assemblies were cloudy. Could not see out of them any more. All of the cleaners and buffing do not work for much longer then 2 3 months then right back to the same. So you change the whole headlight assembly.
