You can pull the disks out from grabbing them from the slots and pulling them forwards. 5. When replacing clutch with OEM clutch disks, you may have orient the disks so that the side with the "notch" orients upwards, with the final disk being oriented towards the slots that are blocked (you'll see that there's a clear path for disks and a path thats blocked). I got aftermarket disks that had no notch but still changed the orientation of the last disk. 6. Tighten clutch spring bolts to 78 inch pounds. Get a 1/4" torque wrench for $20 to do this accurately. Overtightening will result in the clutch not having the proper clearance to engage and you won't be able to shift gears. 7. Tighten the clutch cover bolts to 109 inch pounds.
The habit of the clutch burning quickly is due to the clutch strap setting being too tight, and in some cases this occurs due to the clutch strap being dirty and dry so that the clutch strap movement is disturbed and heavy.
