I love the way the actress's demeanour changes from super confident to trapped in a split second. She has a beautiful speaking voice too.
She is gorgeous period.
Man-hands from Seinfeld.
@@kev3d more importantly... Pam from True Blood
Just stunning.
Hell yeah!
The way the officer dumped those coins on the table, and gave her that look was savage!
Rest in powerful peace Peter Falk 🙏

I can't remember any TV detective mystery series I enjoyed more than Columbo. I liked Monk, but after awhile he kept getting more and more erratic till he appeared stupid and I couldn't watch him anymore; but I never got tired of Columbo.
You should try Poirot.
I like Monk, too, but I notice that the stories don't seem to hold up to repeated viewing the way Columbo does.
*I agree wholeheartedly. Why did they have to turn Monk into a bumbling idiot? The show supposes to be about him solving crimes in his unique style. They started focusing on his antic and less on the cases. That kind of made it hard to watch. The show had a great cast too, so it was a shame that the writers lost their ways.*
Lesson learnt: always ask for a phone to call a lawyer instead of making confession.
Wow! He has aged so much over the episodes. He wiped that smile off of her face.
yep! i loved how the smile was wiped off her face too!
Those two sentences so belong back-to-back!
He looks older in season 5 than in season 9 😭
This was a crazy episode. Columbo had that poor cop running all around the place.
Yeah, but he gave him some of her Black Crows.
But look at the cop's face when Columbo nails the culprit. All that running around.......but to work with the genius, and be at and contribute to the nailing of the culprit........worth all the effort.
I think that that cop does a lot of running around in his day-to-day work. Helping a detective get a murder behind bars is probably something of a holiday to him. :)
Supremely beautiful lady. A great actress, too. That cloud passing over her face as Columbo tells her about the fingerprint . . .
Peter Falk's wife
@@johnurban7333 Really? I hadn't realized.
@@hubertvancalenbergh9022 not sure that’s her, but she’s in this episode. She was in a number of Columbo episodes and she is a blond
@@johnurban7333 This lady is actress Kristin Bauer van Straten, Peter Falk's wife is Shera Danese
@@dttruman you’re right, I got them mixed up.
I really like this. Because it's Columbo solving a case with just solid detective work. It's not a magical gotcha where he's tricking someone into outing themselves. He's got evidence, it can't be refuted, he gets this girl to give damaging testimony against his suspect, and he wins. Just with good police work.
It still could have been an entirely made up story/ evidence to get her to confess.
Investigators can present false evidence, lie, etc to coerce a person into a confession.
@@garybiggs9010 but she knew he had done it. She was aware he had gone off and had her lie as his alibi? Or that's how I figured it?
Love Columbo, bought the whole set on blu ray, the early shot on film episodes have crystal clear picture quality, we enjoy Columbo nights with popcorn and JD.
I’m not used to seeing Colombo without his trench coat.
So in a run-down neighborhood like that, a parking meter took in an entire sackful of coins in a 5 hour period? That building must serve the most civic-minded drug users on earth!
Maybe it pays off like a slot machine.
Either that or the city is really cracking down on parking meter dodgers.
It *was* a small bag and actually not a lot in it. The one dumped on table was maybe $4-5.
Better than getting your car towed.
Last thing you need is a $20 ticket after buying a $20 rock of Crack.
The genius Columbo at work. Sharper than a razor. The lady's self conceited smirk soon vanishes. Now you know who you are dealing with. The best of the best. The cop he had running around is there for the bust. Facial expression says more than worth the effort.
The police officer with a parking meter and coins is Exidor, the hilarious and crazy dude from Mork & Mindy
the way Colombo says the word 'murder' - wow!
Getting fingerprints from a coin in a parking meter, genius!!! Score another one for the Lieutenant!!! 👍👍
I don't think that there was the suspect's fingerprint on the coin. It was a ruse that Columbo used in order to get her to incriminate her boyfriend. If Columbo had enough evidence to make the arrest he would have done it already.
@@kennethsowden The ruse worked!!!
Jack Reacher. Coin in the meter idea.
@@kennethsowden I guess you are right
@@kennethsowden Good point!
SUPER PERFORMANCE BY ALL...
This minor cop reminds me of 'Pa' on 'Ma and Pa Kettle" - like a twin brother to Pa! even sounds like him and his humor is the same.
Isn't it amazing how facing a charge of accessory to murder can change someone's viewpoint? (HaHa)
I love Paulie in this one ..... hey Rocko......
I forgot how tall Ed Begley Jr. was
Click, you know I just couldn't ever get into begley in anything he was in... he just always hit me the wrong way.

Great actress great acting
Pam from True Blood.
Mr.Crutch is now on young Sheldon....
Great actor, so was his Dad....
Nice mention of black crows..... cant thank ya enough!!!!!
Great episode.....
Imagine, dusting all those coins and comparing them to a gun permit. Wow.
I commented on that very thing in another reply! Of course, it *could* be done...but irl would take a LOT longer! (But it's TV fiction, so we forgive and enjoy!)
8:05 Those closeups are quite stunning 😻
Irving’s trench coat is the real crime here.
Just one more thing.... evidence shows it is Season 12 Episode 3 'Undercover' (1994) . My wife said that it does not look like the 70's
Its season 5 of New Columbo, not 70s Columbo. They're technically different shows
Beautiful actress 😊
One of the most enjoyable finish…
He definitely took the smugness away from her. Lol
I saw Begley at a Tom Waits concert years ago in NYC.
"Accessory to murder." Three words that will get you to change your story.
This I'd some jack reacher stuff here!
I'm not sure if I've seen this episode 😱 will be looking out for it very soon!
So they just announce upcoming episodes?
It's called columbo goes undercover and it's one of the later ones and it's very ridiculous. Still watchable for fans.
Does Columbo work in the same police department as Sledge Hammer?
Yep I liked the coin fingerprint changed her facial expression.
beatiful actress
And that smile is gone.
Colombo made sure that he meant business!
I bet Ed Begley Jr wishes he had the Cinco-Phone in prison!
7:33 " Ya, wanna think about your story... ? "
What the Lieutenant really meant to say was....
'Gotcha Sweetheart...' 🤣🤣🤣
What he really meant to say was ....
If you were a man, we'd have got you by the short and curlies....
Peacock doesn't show the newer Columbo from the 90s
Officer 'Brown' - haha
Of course Columbo knew who the murderer was and how it happened because
Lucius Snow showed him in the next day's paper. The coin thing was just a gag.
People say that there were no fingerprints on the coins and that such thing would be inadmissible in court but it happens that Columbo always has a crucial advantage when interviewing or interrogating witnesses or suspects that are not members of the force or the judiciary, as Commissioner Halperin for ex., or career criminals. All those people know all the tricks that a homicide detective may pull when interrogating them but someone who has never been in that position can be an easy prey. For example, when Columbo tells Susan that the fingerprints of her lover were on that coin she should have told him she wouldn't say another word without a lawyer, suspecting of course that maybe Columbo was lying. Instead of that she immediately assumed he was telling the truth, a cop isn't supposed to lie, is he...? Her mistake was to dismiss the word of caution of her lover and assuring him she could take care of herself. Big mistake, she couldn't. Had he stayed he would have made her shut up right away.
No one ever lawyers up on Columbo,
@@TrevorKeenAnimation I would if I am not 100% done. Like for ex. the guys who had kept the dead body in their own homes or their own nightclubs. You can even go back on your confession if you made it when alone with Columbo. There is even a blog where their analyse many or most Columbo cases and conclude that quite a few wouldn't even make it to court.
The site is called The Columbophile blog.
Wow, a young Ed Begley Jr.!
Nice detail: Everytime she lies, she looks down or away. When she tells the truth, she looks Columbo straight in the eyes. Basic but nice acting, Kristin!
Common misconception that looking someone in the eye is the sign of truth telling. Looking away is a sign of thinking.
Exidor (Robert Donner) from Mork & Mindy holding the parking meter there.
Brilliant actor.. Peter falk... Can you ever imagine BING CROSBY IN THE ROLE..
"grazie" in italian. amazing.
Man hands!

For anyone who doesn't know, the police dept set in this episode of Columbo is the same set used in Brooklyn 99 🤯
is that the visiting nurse for uncle jun on the sopranos ?
Imagine finger printing all those coins ugh 😮😮😮
I don't know if this means anything or how important it is, but this lady was the girl with the "man hands" in a episode of Seinfeld.
just once as a gag can it be revealed that Columbo is the murderer?
I would totally watch an episode where columbo goes to a murder mystery party and gets assigned as the murderer
"Now this coin...this one in my hand. This one is different. It has 1958 printed on it. Do you know what that means? It has been travelling twenty-two years to get here, and now it's here, and you have to call it...Heads or Tails...."
This isn't season 5 episode 4. That episode is called "A matter of Honour" This is season 12 episode 3.
Did nobody read the description? It specifically says season 5 of " New Columbo". The series from the 90s doesn't immediately pick up the season number from the original run.
We all hate smugness. When we are not smug ourselves.
It's from season 10, episode 9. Not season 5, episode 4.
That's pam from the show true blood Kristin looks different in this episode
He has the temerity to keep the whole box?
At 1:19 what does he say, which artist or show name does he say when she says "look what I've got for tonight" ? Just before she says the tickets are front row?

That uniformed cop was a prison guard in "Cool Hand Luke." He was also Patrick Swayze's father in "Red Dawn." No he was not Patrick Swayze's father in Red Dawn. See reply below.
Harry Dean Stanton was Swayze's dad in Red Dawn
@@plutoofpluto5737 That's right! I stand corrected. That cop was one of the Walton's neighbours, I believe.
So many holes in this story.
1. Finger prints stay on coins for days afterwards. How many coins are in circulation with your own finger prints on them?
2. Parking meters will take your coin, even after hours.
That Cop is Robert Donner....Exidor from Mork & Mindy.
you mean Season 12 Episode 03 from 1994, "undercover".
What episode is this?
Undercover
S10 E9 (I believe) “Undercover” it’s the second Columbo whodunnit, right after Season 5’s “Last Salute To The Commodore”
Exidor , is that you?
I love Columbo and I love Peter Falk.... but the only thing I hate about Columbo is this... why are these people always answering any and all questions he asks them? When he walks up the very first time.... all they need to do (and should do) is say... Talk to my lawyer. End of discussion. But the problem with that is that then there would be no show. Because every case he solves depends on the people being dumb enough to waive their God given rights and act as witnesses against THEMSELVES. LOL Columbo is probably the very best educational example of... don't talk to police, they are not your friends, and talking to them can only hurt you. LOL
Just for your edification. I’ve got to use that line at work one day.
Kristin Bauer van Straten, beautiful woman.
Coins pass hands all day
Columbo should be rebooted with Michael Richards. I don't know if he can do serious acting, but I think he can well manage all of Columbo's quirks that irritate his suspects. Use his height as one more advantage that sets him a couple of beats away everyone around him.
I don't know if people will fully accept him, let alone anyone, as Columbo except for Peter Falk.
Michael already tried to be a detective in the 2000s and the show didn't last
I would definitely watch if they corrected the mrs. Columbo canon and made her actually mrs. Columbo, then there would be no problem and Kate mulgrew can just jump in back in la.
Why not use a new, unknown actor instead. With Michael Richards I just see Kramer. Not all actors end up stereotyped in a role but unfortunately some do.
I think he is too old to portray Columbo in an entire series of episodes, maybe a once off movie or two. His bio says he is 72 years old. By comparison Peter Falk was just 41 years old when he first played Columbo. I remember they tried resurrecting Kojak without Telly Savalas, it only lasted one season as I recall.
What a good girl.
gamer security?
Begley Jr. is one tall person.
6.4 so yeh pretty tall.
Twist: the coin never had the fingerprints…
This is from season 10 not season 5.
Kristin Bauer van Straten
I knew Captain Trunk worked for LAPD.
Comme elle est belle.
Nope. He just didn’t realize the parking was free after 6pm, so he put a coin into the meter by mistake. Case dismissed.
Clifford Maine has a serious problem.
Have you ever noticed that nobody knows Columbo’s first name?!
Even Columbo's dog(s) had no name. In one show he was asked what his dog's name is to which he replied, "we just call him dog".
He always said it's lieutenant however his first name was never given because it wasn't important but pascuale is the answer you're looking for
@@theblackstridersofficial2562
It's Frank
I don't think they fingerprinted every friggin' coin. He just said they did. Then she caved like an old gold mine.
Fingerprints on a coin doesn't seem to be definitive proof of anything. Coins change hands all the time.
Columbo is a bit confused in his acting with the beautiful wooman ..😄
As much as I love Columbo this was a dumb take down, if your gonna take coins from Parking meters that's, the obvious reason when to do that is if you caught a glimpse of the car being parked and the somebody is inserting the coin..
And if that's so, wouldn't it be better to focus on the mKe and model of the car the guy is driving and try to get at him through that angle...
Other than going through all those coins to rule out finger prints?
Men need to learn that they should never have a woman as a partner in crime. The cops will always flip her to get to you. She will always flip.
QUESTION as Columbo ever caught the WRONG murderer
Forgotten Lady has a twist…
wooooow, what a bombshell, just smoking hotness lolol and that smile is pretty good too, she knows she's gorgeous, of course
It's amazing how a beautiful woman stays beautiful UNTIL she quits smiling.
I forget, what happened to his forehead?
Why bring the whole parking meter to the station?
