Love this performance by John. I have no idea how many times I have listened to it. Love him.
Entire band doing backup vocals. That was the first time I’d ever seen Angus (drummer) and David (keyboard) sing.
John farnham is definetly one of the greatest male singer of all time and master of every music genre ❤

John's voice is so powerful that a lot of the time his mic is at chest level but his voice is still clear and strong.
Jack jones is one of the singers.. he is one with long hair..he went on to be a front man for the band southern sons.. he still does shows now and he is awesome.. people say he sounds a lot like John Farnham..one of southern sons songs is “hold me in your arms” it’s a love ballad and it’s great..
Jack Jones has a nice voice with slight similarities to John but he doesn’t hold a candle to John.
His voice was louder and check how far away his mic was 😊

John’s band wasn’t playing as they were singing with him in this, plus his 3 back up singers.
This one always plays my heart-strings. As the lead singer in this a capella rendition, John's voice was meant to be 'out front' of his backing choir. As one singing coach/ teacher observed, John's neck (with vocal chords inside) is very wide, muscled and strong, helping make his powerful voice. For John's female Aussie equivalent, please react to the wonderful and extraordinary Vanessa Amorosi. I suggest you watch the YT video of her singing, 'Have A Look', on a German TV program named something like, 'Top of the Pops'. I'm enjoying your reactions to Aussie music. Which country do you live in/are from ?

John's voice is actually sooo naturally loud. But on stage, I'm sure that his mic is still given priority over everyone else's in the sound mixing.
Fillipe what you are trying to say is that John is both hugely charismatic and has wonderful stage presence with one of the most versatile voices in the world while at the same time being just a real freindly boy next door ordinary approachable guy.
In Aus, we measure everyone in the world against how well they stack up against John Farnham. And for us he comes out on top every time lol. John started out in the 60's and Michael in the 70's, and John remained actively putting out number 1 charting albums right up till 2017

We in Oz grew up with John. He is pitch perfect with phenomenal power and range. John never needs an instrument behind him ! Do yourself a favour and listen to his music. BTW American Artist Lou Gramm, lead singer for Foreigner had similar vocals.
