Again, a very sage reaction. Interesting that it takes an Asian to explain some of the fundamental differences between European melody and US melody. In part it explains why Lara Fabian's music never became popular in the US.

WOW!!! I am late for your party. This is my first time watching your reaction video of Lara Fabian singing " Adagio." Her voice is beautiful, strong, and emotional. Have you watched Dimash sing this same song on "The Singer 2017?" Lara loved his voice so much that she collaborated with Igor Krutoy on a song the two of them wrote expressly for Dimash called "Your Love". If you have listened to these two songs, I am so disappointed that I missed your reactions. If you have not done so as yet, I hope to see your reactions to these two songs. to be a real artist, one not just need to be an athlete with extreme singing abilities, you need to express emotion from your soul with your body. Like she is. she's a extraordinary performer. not only a good singer.
I would say you do not need to be an athlete with extreme singing abilities to be an artist. The second , the ability to express emotion from your soul with your body, is the main thing in becoming an artist. The singing ability to express these emotions is of course very important.
I only recently discovered Lara Fabian recently (through Dimash). This piece of music is based loosely on Adagio by Albinoni (although it was likely not written by Albinoni). It is a beautiful piece of music even without lyrics. The vocalisation lends itself to bending the melodic line and adapting the feeling. Love your genuine expression when you react. Thank you!

She took the incomplet melody of this 2 centuries song and wrote a lyrics in English and Italian (please, check ir out ter Italian version which is better in my opinion) That's how Adagio starts in her hands (Lara's version), back in 1999. Both versions in English and Italian. She is able to hold this ending note over 17 seconds. She just did it for 8 seconds here, which was pretty much easy for her. But too hard for many of our mainstream singers.
PS: Lara is too methodic, too professional as an artist/performer/ to go beyond her vocal limits, she goes near the edge and come back. Some people like this particular way of hers, some would like to see how could be if she dared much more.... beyond her limits. But, she already said something like that:I just couldn't do what is unhealthy much to my body, I prefer being healthy singing properly.
Plus. What about the resonant in teu closed vowel in "Make Me Believe"?! So professional, high level, beautifuly done. She has been singing this way since 1986. Belting with a master breathing and resonance thecnic C5 in chest/mixed voice over 16 seconds, E5 chest/mixed voice longer than 12 seconds. Trust me, this isn't one of her hasdest songs. ;) She is vocal classic trained at The Royal Conservatory of Brussels for 10 years (8 to18) where she learned piano, guitar, bel canto... She composes in 4 languages since her teenage years, and she already released songs in 12 languages. There are vídeos on CZcams showing her language versatility skills.
She is 51 years and has starded singing professionaly in 1986 (when she released her first album and video clipe in Belgium), but ter worldwild album only came in 1990.

One of my favourite things to find and enjoy is music that gives me chills and goosebumps. I was cruising CZcams recently and discovered a Russian talent show contestant that did just that, with one of the best, most unique voices I've heard in many years. Her delivery was nothing short of magical and I searched out more and more and more, and...more chills.
I was stunned to find that the first performance I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 17 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English and Arabic.
The covers she performed on that show are very popular on CZcams. Many CZcamsrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "Take On Me" and others.
