Ok. So, I’ve not been a Louis fan in the past, but I also haven’t listened to much of his music. However, I’m two songs into this video and I’m loving both of these songs! I’m kinda surprised at how much I’m liking this album so far. I discovered Niall Horan a few months back and have been a big fan of his. I didn’t think I’d be that way with any of the other 1D guys, but I may have been wrong 🤔 I love the heavier sound that Louis has. I like just about all genres of music. Always enjoy your reactions!

This was me a couple of years ago! I "accidentally" got into Harry, then Spotify kept feeding me Louis and Niall. I don't like much current music all that much so I thought there was no way I could like more than one. Here I am having been to a Louis concert, a Harry concert, and hanging round outside a festival to hear Niall (tickets for a festival weren't feasible for me), and having tickets for another Louis concert on this tour, as well as friends I've made through the fandoms.
Louis is the best one of them I think, and I’m the same way, never cared for 1D. I think everyone has talent but IMO, I’ve seen Louis has grown the most. I think Niall Horan’s best work is heartbreak weather, and I don’t much like Harry styles apart from his first two albums (could not get through the third). It’s interesting to watch how everyone makes their name with a different genre and style, definitely
The Greatest was not written to open the album, but it was written as the opener for the tour shows, so maybe that’s why it’s a bit short? I don’t know haha 😅 Louis did say that he wrote this song with the fans (his louies) in mind. Like a tribute to their bond cause the relationship between Louis and Louies is beyond this world - never seen anything like that elsewhere. It’s a codependency. The love and respect comes from both sides.
Bigger than Me was the first single and Louis described it as a transition from Walls to FITF and I agree on that. I was blown away when it came out. And you are right, this album has no skips. His whole discography imo has no skips haha
The whole album was written purely for performing it live. The Greatest is the tour opener, so live it is more of a production with a long intro. U liked it more than I predicted actually, I expected a 7.5 as most people who react overlook it as the album opener. WAOYF is one of my top 3 songs of Louis' whole discography. It is such a great play on the ups and downs of love and Louis' fast past vocal in the 2nd verse is insane! 10 thoroughly deserved! 🎉🎉 Bigger Than Me was his lead singer for the album and was an instant hit coz of how different it was from anything we had heard before from him. The music video is really simple, but such a beautiful aesthetic! He says the song is about his relationship with his fans. About how when he steps out on stage, he realises that it not just about him and fans, it's bigger, its a collective now and how that is a bigger responsibility! I think Lucky Again is just about life in general... he has had some really rough crap, but he was lucky to find his place in music with 1D, was lucky to have am amazing family around him and the song is him saying I've had to fight this stuff, but I can be lucky again, we can be lucky again...his fans, his family everything. Coincidentally his sister had a baby last year and named the little boy Lucky. Face The Music isn't the most Pop Punk Louis gets as u will see later in the album, but it's such a strong bop and again is open to interpretation which is a common theme through Louis' songs. Anyone can relate to them and put your own story to them. Chicago again a firm fan favourite, it has been speculated heavy what the lyric is about, but I personally don't care what or who is the subject because its just a beautiful song! Glad u liked it so much!! Can't wait for the next part. There is definitely a couple of VERY different styles coming up that I can't wait for your opinion on. But great job as always and love that you are enjoying this journey! Chicago would be a great cover for you too
Yes I can definitely see how it's written for live-performances, really cool 🔥 And I feel now afterwards that some songs aren't necessarily about him, but it makes you think about your own journey and chapters through life. You are right. Louis is the oldest of 7 children. Which is why in two of us the line: we’ll end just like we started just you and me and no one else.“ hits so hard cause him being the oldest, he thought he’d join his mum first before his siblings do but yeah we all know it didn’t go this way. And „I promised you I’d do this, so all of this is all for you, oh I swear to god you’re living through everything I’ll ever do“ hits hard too cause I interpret it this way: when the band broke up Louis was very upset, it broke him, as the only one still wanting to be in that band, it hit him hard and he didn’t see himself solo at all. He called his mum and she told him to pursue a solo career cause she knew he had it in him. So while as a musician you love music and it’s a habit and it always comes back to you, you can’t escape this passion and you don’t want to stop making music but I think his mum also played an important role for him to take on this path. (Sorry I got carried away.😅)
@@kimpolimpo yes. His mum had Louis at age 18 I think. Louis‘ dad left them and he wasn’t a part of his life. Not until when 1d got famous, he tried to reach out but Louis blocked any contact tbh. Understandable. His mum met Mark Tomlinson and he became Louis‘ stepfather and Louis took on his name and considers Mark to be his dad.
Louis is great, and he'll become the greatest. Let him time, he already has his path mapped and knows how he is going to manage it. He's a poet and understads the music, love the music like his life, understand it. I love his pop punk, his pop rock, he's a rock star, not a pop star. Wonderful album. Thanks for your opinion. Before I watch your reaction (yeah, I’m being weird again), the cool thing about this album is that Louis wrote it as it would be played live. There’s a great interview where he explains it, but he talks about opening the show, when to build the crowd up, slow down the tempo, etc. So it’s not just the lyrics & the songs themselves that make this album different, it’s that Louis meant all of the songs to be played live & in the way you would experience a concert. I’m really glad how much you’ve enjoyed it so far! One thing you’ve already noticed is that no matter what type of song or what the topic, Louis’ music has a positive feel to it. At your lowest point or in the middle of heartbreak, he can make you feel hopeful (Lucky Again) & that there’s something more out there (Bigger Than Me). At the same time, he’s very much about living in the moment & enjoying life while you can. (Face the Music). It’s really hard to separate his songs/lyrics from who he is as a person bc of those things. He also writes in concepts, so in Bigger Than Me you made a good comparison of him talking to his younger self. In a way, it can also mean his music has a larger impact (on his fans). He has an incredible connection he has with his fans (The Greatest). Looking forward to Part 2, but ngl, I’m really interested in hearing your opinion on a couple of my fav songs in Part 3. (ps I’m so nosy: Did you have your wife listen to Perfect Now? Ik you said it was sweet so I’m hoping you’re converting her into a Louie as well. 😁)
I feel the same, it's heavy lyric but positive vibe-music. Cool combination 😁 Yes, I've played it to her and she loved it! She likes Walls better than FITF, so many songs on the latest albums weren't her cup of tea. But she liked some songs tho 😉
I guess you haven’t seen it but Louis released his documentary called „All of those voices“ that shows and explains his journey as an artist, it also shows his growth and gives you an insight into his personal thoughts and environment. It tells his story from 1d till now, shows his growing confidence throughout the years, shows his relationship with his family, the fans and his crew. And I think, for me at least, listening to lucky again after having seen the documentary hits different. I get the feeling of idk understanding louis in this song a lot better than before. I think in lucky again he talks about his younger self being in 1d vs who he is now.I could make a sing analysis but that’s gonna take too long haha. I wish you can see the movie. I think it’d available on Netflix in some countries but I’m still waiting for like a streaming or dvd version.

When I watch the documentary last March my eyes are so puffy frm crying yknow entering the cinema with so much pride for louis and then going out with your heart almost abt to explode cos he's just so down to earth and you felt like IMMENSELY proud of him. Chicago lyrics did the same to me.. goosebumps! I could tell by your reaction you could relate to the words. I could to.. I had one like that 40 years ago.. and it wasn't meant to be. we were in different places. But we still have kept in touch over the years. That is one thing I like about his music I believe so many people can relate to what he writes, regardless of age, sex, and life experiences

I really love the Greatest. I thought it was a perfect opener. I know he wrote it as an opener for his concerts. When I have the album on repeat and this songs starts again I just go, this really is a great song, every time. I love it. I have not listened to any song explanations, but my guess would rather be that the us and we in the Greatest are about Louis and his fans. We're one. And we're great together. It's what he always says on his concerts. I think he had a lot 1D references on Walls, but I don't feel he has that on this album. Yeah, love the guitar on Written all over your face. Another favorite of mine too. Now, I'll just sit back and listen to what youäll say instead of commenting... oh, editing again because I did not expect a 10!

There's one song... it will come up later... but I do love the whole album. What I can say is that my favorite part of the album is probably the first half. But of course there's songs in the end I also love but first half is the closest to favortie song as I can say. *lol* I guess I haven't decided on my fav song yet.

The singles were 1st Bigger Than Me, 2nd Out Of My System and 3rd Silver Tongues. All a good range of sounds to showcase what Faith in the Future would be. I think Bigger Than Me was picked first as it was most likely for radio play. Unfortunately, Louis seems to be black listed on mainstream radio stations who don't play his stuff. Even in the UK, they only played 1 song right when he was announced as the number 1 album, and then once more when fans spam messaged at request time to get one played. Hes not been on their rotation at all other than that, we believe it maybe due to his break away from Sony Music after 1D and the start of his solo work

@kimpolimpo Unfortunately, I don't see the difference between playing Louis or playing The Artic Monkeys or The Killers songs which the radio does regularly. The BBC also has several different segments for different musical genres, he totally would have fitted in one of them but wasn't. Even when the fans spammed them to play one of his songs they had to go searching for it because it wasn't anywhere on their playlists. Then he got the number 1 album and they never played any of the songs even after that... Louis has mentioned in interviews how they're lots of politics and broken promises/fake people he finds in the music industry and finds it hard to know if anyone will actually play his songs if he talks to them. Bigger Than Me was meant to be the one that had a good shot, not being as heavy in the guitar and drums as the rest of the album, and still nothing

Your face at 13:18 is my face with this whole album. My first favourite of his was Change when he played it at the first Away from Home Festival, and I loved Walls, but FITF is just a whole other level. It brings me so much joy.

So while as a musician you love music and it’s a habit and it always comes back to you, you can’t escape this passion and you don’t want to stop making music but I think his mum also played an important role for him to take on this path. (Sorry I got carried away.😅)

@@kimpolimpo yes. His mum had Louis at age 18 I think. Louis‘ dad left them and he wasn’t a part of his life. Not until when 1d got famous, he tried to reach out but Louis blocked any contact tbh. Understandable. His mum met Mark Tomlinson and he became Louis‘ stepfather and Louis took on his name and considers Mark to be his dad.

Louis is the oldest and has his son Freddie. He has 4 sisters and a brother. The oldest sister is Lottie (who has a son called Lucky), then comes Félicité who sadly passed away, then the twins Phoebe and Daisy (phoebe is currently pregnant with a girl) and then the youngest twins calless Doris and Ernest

Before I watch your reaction (yeah, I’m being weird again), the cool thing about this album is that Louis wrote it as it would be played live. There’s a great interview where he explains it, but he talks about opening the show, when to build the crowd up, slow down the tempo, etc.
So it’s not just the lyrics & the songs themselves that make this album different, it’s that Louis meant all of the songs to be played live & in the way you would experience a concert. I hope you enjoyed, see you on the other side!

I listened to it 7 times before I could move on to the next song on the album.
I’m really glad how much you’ve enjoyed it so far! One thing you’ve already noticed is that no matter what type of song or what the topic, Louis’ music has a positive feel to it. At your lowest point or in the middle of heartbreak, he can make you feel hopeful (Lucky Again) & that there’s something more out there (Bigger Than Me). At the same time, he’s very much about living in the moment & enjoying life while you can. (Face the Music). It’s really hard to separate his songs/lyrics from who he is as a person bc of those things.
He also writes in concepts, so in Bigger Than Me you made a good comparison of him talking to his younger self. In a way, it can also mean his music has a larger impact (on his fans). He has an incredible connection he has with his fans (The Greatest).
Looking forward to Part 2, but ngl, I’m really interested in hearing your opinion on a couple of my fav songs in Part 3.

I guess you haven’t seen it but Louis released his documentary called „All of those voices“ that shows and explains his journey as an artist, it also shows his growth and gives you an insight into his personal thoughts and environment. It tells his story from 1d till now, shows his growing confidence throughout the years, shows his relationship with his family, the fans and his crew. And I think, for me at least, listening to lucky again after having seen the documentary hits different. I get the feeling of idk understanding louis in this song a lot better than before. I think in lucky again he talks about his younger self being in 1d vs who he is now.I could make a sing analysis but that’s gonna take too long haha. I wish you can see the movie. I think it’d available on Netflix in some countries but I’m still waiting for like a streaming or dvd version.

When I watch the documentary last March my eyes are so puffy frm crying yknow entering the cinema with so much pride for louis and then going out with your heart almost abt to explode cos he's just so down to earth and you felt like IMMENSELY proud of him. Chicago lyrics did the same to me.. goosebumps! I could tell by your reaction you could relate to the words. I could to.. I had one like that 40 years ago.. and it wasn't meant to be. we were in different places. But we still have kept in touch over the years. That is one thing I like about his music I believe so many people can relate to what he writes, regardless of age, sex, and life experiences

I really love the Greatest. I thought it was a perfect opener. I know he wrote it as an opener for his concerts. When I have the album on repeat and this songs starts again I just go, this really is a great song, every time. I love it. I have not listened to any song explanations, but my guess would rather be that the us and we in the Greatest are about Louis and his fans. We're one. And we're great together. It's what he always says on his concerts. I think he had a lot 1D references on Walls, but I don't feel he has that on this album.

The singles were 1st Bigger Than Me, 2nd Out Of My System and 3rd Silver Tongues. All a good range of sounds to showcase what Faith in the Future would be. I think Bigger Than Me was picked first as it was most likely for radio play. Unfortunately, Louis seems to be black listed on mainstream radio stations who don't play his stuff. Even in the UK, they only played 1 song right when he was announced as the number 1 album, and then once more when fans spam messaged at request time to get one played. Hes not been on their rotation at all other than that, we believe it maybe due to his break away from Sony Music after 1D and the start of his solo work

@kimpolimpo Unfortunately, I don't see the difference between playing Louis or playing The Artic Monkeys or The Killers songs which the radio does regularly. The BBC also has several different segments for different musical genres, he totally would have fitted in one of them but wasn't. Even when the fans spammed them to play one of his songs they had to go searching for it because it wasn't anywhere on their playlists. Then he got the number 1 album and they never played any of the songs even after that... Louis has mentioned in interviews how they're lots of politics and broken promises/fake people he finds in the music industry and finds it hard to know if anyone will actually play his songs if he talks to them. Bigger Than Me was meant to be the one that had a good shot, not being as heavy in the guitar and drums as the rest of the album, and still nothing

For me, "Face the music" means "Face the public eye". (I don't know if I'm explaining it correctly, hopefully my thoughts don't get lost in translation and you understand what I mean).
