PwC has a facility in Orlando Florida too where they send new hires
I just had one virtual interview then got an offer. I was surprised
Congrats! Which firm? I think there has been a decrease in flow of new accounting students. So maybe that is why it seems firms are quick to give offers recently?
Why just limit yourself to big 4? when mid size firms are another great option and can offer a better fit depending on personality. Also mid size firms you can learn more of the audit or tax more intimately usually a better work life balance as well. Work culture is 100% more family feel
Hey Mona, I totally agree. Sometimes the Big 4 is just… well too big and you can feel a little lost. You make some good points
Would you say the office design and vibes matter much if going into audit? It's my understanding that you're never in the actual office vs going to the client office
I think it’s personal preference what type of office design/vibe you are looking for, but I think many audit teams are attempting to go back to the office or client site once or more times a week due to the benefits of working in person.
I was an intern before COVID, so when deciding which firm I wanted to accept an offer from, the general vibe and feel of the office was my decision maker
Can I work as a auditor practice in international but, my icma isn't completed right now?
I think that a question best for your recruiter! I’m not too sure what a icma is. I’m from the states, and don’t think an icma is needed to start working in audit
PwC or Ey ? I'm stuck in between. 😅
I had to choose between two at one point. My decision came down to a few factors:
- location;
- office feel and look;
- culture; and
- pay
In no participles order
Both offices were located in the same state, but one was closer to my home by about 30 minutes, where the other office was an hour away.
Pay was relatively the same, give or take a few hundred.
What my decision came down to was the culture and office feel. The one I ended up going to felt welcoming and so did the office. The one I did not choose had a very closed and strict feeling. Additionally, some of the people I conversed with felt a little off.
Hopefully that helps you a little. Think about your experiences at these two firms and which ones could you see yourself working for in 5 years. (Even if you don’t plan to stay that long).
Let me know if you got anymore questions or want some more elaboration :)
It's almost 2023 and people are still harping about the Big 4. I think the fad was okay in the 90s and maybe early 2000s, but time to get with the times.
Other than Big 4, where do you think people should look when starting their careers?
Hi Chris! I’m really glad I found your channel, your videos are very insightful. I am a junior in college and I recently had a tough time deciding between big 4 internship offers. I ended up making a decision and will be an assurance intern with PwC next summer! I am very happy with my decision. I think you should do vlogs, like the day in the life of a big 4 auditor! That would be very cool, if you’re schedule allows it. Subbed!
Hey Jake! I’m glad your here :) congrats on the offer! That is so exciting, and I’m happy for you! Thank you for subbing, I’ll definitely keep that in mind for the coming year. The CPA exams are really keeping me busy!
@@chrisouch6517 Thank you for your support, and your welcome! I love how the accounting community has grown over the years on youtube! Right, I totally forgot that you are currently studying for it. Definitely keep that as priority, and you'll do great on those exams!
