Richard O'Brien set the standard of The Crystal Maze we all love, Ed Tudor Pole then took the reigns to make it feel like a Time-Travelling Adventure rather than just a game show
And Richard Ayoade also makes The Crystal Maze his own & still has to deal with General Public Idiots as well as Celebrity Morons & he treats them both with his No Emotions Response

Not only does Joey Essex have teeth that are ridiculously over-whitened, the top set of teeth are a completely different shade than the bottom. Then I saw that Jodie Kidd and Scarlett Moffatt suffer from the same indignity. I thought it might be a lighting issue, but Coulthard, Jones, and Ayoade have normal looking teeth, both maxilar and mandibular. It's like replacing the brakes on your car, you shouldn't just do one side.
So ignoring that Coulthard is the only celebrity, why does Joey get the demeaning tag of 'reality star' but Scarlett gets to be a 'tv presenter?' I like Joey, he has never tried or pretended to be anything but Joey Essex, even though people constantly talk down to and about him.
You're literally doing the thing you complain about in your own comment. There's nothing "demeaning" about being a reality TV star and expecting the show to present him as anything different is because you look down on him for being one. Being on reality TV is a job like any other and to expect him to deny that is to ask him to be ashamed of himself
All I know is that as my husband was watching him in the first room, he shook his head and said, "Proof that looks aren't everything."😂

Richard doesn't like people touching him or he touching them unless he knows them or they're friends. I believe it has to do with the way he was raised. (an only child of immigrant parents)And I must say, in our present environment, with inappropriate contact and abuse among celebrities and the like you can understand it. If you've watched the other game shows that he's on like bfqoty, he's friends with Noel Fielding. They hug and are very close friends. And there have been others who've managed to grab a hug when coerced, like Jimmy Carr.

This edition of the competition is very bad in terms of decoration, photography and very bad performance. The old version is much better by stages.
